I am going tomorrow
I'm sure this mare just needs time, maybe a long time but something has obviously happened to make her behave this way.
She doesn't strike me as the type of filly thats been a freak from day one so someone somewhere has alot to answer to!!!
May see a few of you there tomorrow then |

Havenbeech, if you do see her is there any way you could buy her? I'd pay you the money!
She shouldn't be there now, though. I've spoken to her owner again and he's had a change of heart. Cynical me thinks he's realised how good her breeding is and thought he can get more for her!! But regardless, all being well he is genuine in that and she won't be there tomorrow. I hope not, I've had so many offers of help from people I'm overwhelmed. I know there are a couple of other people interested in her too, and my aim was just to secure her future somehow. I am also very grateful for the warnings about her as at least I've done this with my eyes open
I also need to make an apology about my comment about her breaking in. I've been told she went to a well known producer, not one of the local yards as I'd suspected. If the man who backed her had difficulty it seems her problems stem from before her backing. It does make me wonder whether there's some physical problem there that has gone undiagnosed from a youngster, but I suppose we'll never know. So apologies for casting aspersions on her backing.
I've asked Jameela's owner to keep my number in case he changes his mind, hopefully if he does I'll have a bit more time to sort something! And if he doesn't, that does leave room with me for another project/rescue/whatever.

If anyone wantsany information on Jameela please PM me. Please do not take this filly on lightly. I owned her for a time, trust is a BIG issue with her. She was backed by a top professional, but she had already had the issues before going to him.
I pray for this filly that the right person wil buy her because otherwise she is going to be doing the rounds of the markets until the inevitable end. I cannot believe the original owner is doing this to this girl. I could scream |

I wonder how her last owner sold her? There are sales at Shrewsbury, I wonder if she was at one of them?
I hope the man who has her now doesn't change his mind - or if he does, he gets in touch with one of us who have expressed an interest in her. While I don't want to pay over the odds, I'd be happy to give her a home for life even as a companion. |

Ah, "gave her away" - that never ends doesn't always well At least, for now, she's not going to the sale (I really hope I don't get a call to say she's there later) and we'll have to hope her current owner gives her a good life.
Edited cos although I've known bad stories about giving away horses, of course it doesn't mean that it's never going to work out. Think I need to wake up before I type.... |

I don't care how "good" the "professional" she was sent to is supposed to be---SHE WAS ONLY THREE!!!!! She didn't need to have any issues before that for it to blow her mind. Concentrated ridden work at that age is a disgrace. |

I had an email of her current owner to say she won't be at the sale, and they're going to breed from her so I hope she has some lovely foals for them and they hang onto her.
I'm just wondering if she has had an accident as a youngster, that wasn't noticed and that has caused some long term damage to her. Just speculating, I don't know what tests or anything other people have done with her. Something like kissing spines might not be picked up until she starts work, but I don't know if that sort of thing has been ruled out. It's not something people automatically think about, it only crossed my mind after reading about someone else's experiences.
My phone is on and sitting by my desk (I did no work yesterday for thinking about this mare!) but I hope it doesn't ring. |

hi all..just to let you know jameela did not get sold at llanybydder..she is remaining with me and is NOT mad like everyone seems to think..she is good to handle and is a lovely looking girl..i have only had her 1 month ..i took her on as she was going to have to be destroyed..unfortunately she kicked my husbands horse and he was so upset he decided to sell her to cover vets fees..but having calmed him down we decided that she should stay with us and not be passed around and maybe end up with someone who wouldnt cope with her..i can assure you she has a good home and will post pics later!! |

Hi Vicki, that's great news and I'm very pleased you've decided to keep her. I'm not surprised you were upset that she kicked your stallion, I know I'd be horrified if one of my mares did that.
It's great that she's settled well with you, too - I hope she'll produce some lovely foals for you in the future.
Apologies for sounding cynical, too, BTW - I've heard too many horror stories including one involving an Arab gelding I offered to have and it's made me think the worst (I'm not a soft touch, offering to help Arabs in need, not much!)
I'd love to see some recent pics of her |

Might I ask why you have decided to breed from a mare that is temperamental. I know nothing about breeding. Is there a possibility that she may pass that on to her foals. Just wondered. I don't know very much about horses |

hi again..karon just reading a few of your comments on jameela..and no we dont know how good her breeding is... would love to know??..we breed thoroughbreds ..we only took in jameela as we felt sorry for her!!..i would love to know more about her "problems" as we have only seen excellent behaviour around people..our problem was with another horse!!..i have been gently schooling her and she seems perfectly happy to have her feet done..with patience..she did kick out very quickly once when she first arrived ..which i did try to warn everyone!!..i think with time and patience we will get her riding!!..watch this space!!..if you are interested i would love to keep you updated!!.. |

No idea of where to show her, I don't do showing with mine (they fall asleep, which doesn't create a good impression!). I have always admired Rusleem, he was one of my ideal Arab stallions and the Silver Faery is actually related to my mares' lines through Kossak and also, I think, Silver Scenario. So she'd complement my breeding well IMHO!
Can't help on her problems, but I'm glad she's behaving well with you But if you do ever decide to sell her, I'd still be interested as I do love her breeding and thought she was a lovely looking mare when she was for sale last year. |

Talked to my neighbour tonight - prices were up at llanybydder - better prices this week than for ages...the meat man was there - but he went home with an empty lorry this time! The big PBA Pally stallion did not show.
