OMG!!!! What absolute chaos! Poor panicked horses, and so badly managed by all the officials who just seemed to fuel their panic. Appalling, and for what....? |

OMG......HOW AWFUL...My heart is still racing, hopefully no one was seriously injured. Does anyone know if the poor horse that was down, survived such a horrendous ordeal.
OMG OMG, poor all who had to endure helplessly watching the magnitude of that accident.

That was horrible ... amazed all survived it. That poor horse at the end was absolutely exhausted and it seemed to be standing sensibly being held until it was cannoned into and knocked over by another run-away. |

This reminds me of a couple of years ago at the Edenbridge show, when an elderly lady got kicked in the ring and was laying prone on the floor. At first the class carried on around her. It was ages before they used their sense and got the horses out of the ring. Can't remember now what was in the ring, heavy horses or hunters I think. The arabs were in the next ring and they were all held up until the drama in the adjoining ring was sorted.

This was on Tea and Coffee before it was on FHOTD. http://www.arabianlines.com/forum1/topic_new.asp?TOPIC_ID=33407
To repeat what I said then:
That was awful. What a bunch of idiots. Poor, poor horses. And of course these poor horses will have been "trained" to drive with hobbles and heavy shoes on to alter their gait to that of a hackney, and bearing reins---- What is it about Americans and how they treat horses? There are of course some good Americans, but when you see stuff like this from the US show scene you understand why "Natural Horsemanship"---stating the obvious to anyone with common sense--- thinks itself so revolutionary in America.

Glad no people or horses got badly injured. If that was a cartoon it would have been hilarious.. as its a very good example of what can go wrong will!! |

What a nightmare and why on earth didn't they unhitch the other horses and get them out sooner? It is a miracle people and horses weren't killed.
