Glad she didn't turn up. Other thing may be, if someone went with the intent to bring her home, she was sold in the car park and never set foot on the grounds of the auction? Only a thought, but it's what I did last Friday with Skye - waited til she came into the box area and pounced - she never even came off the box, turned round and staright home to me Hope this little mare has found a good home, I didn't dare read the post even until now! |

Hopefully she got good home, if she was bought outside the action room hopefully it wud be someone that really wanted her (like you did and wud be long term home) and would pay decent money otherwise surely the owners wud put her through to get more money.

Does anyone know if this Mare did go to the sale, or was purchased in the Lorry Park, before entering the sales ring. Would be nice to hear if she has now secured a safe, caring home for the rest of her days.
Does anyone know who the Vendor was???

Obviously didnt wanted themselves to be identified there was hardly any clues in the mare's description was there - ' top Russian breeding' ? I do hope the owner has had a lightbulb moment and come to her senses, 18 years is not old, , wish I was nearer |

Rather than starting a new post i thought id just add to this. Entered for tomorrows sale:
42. “Silver Jameela”. Sire-“Rusleem” Dam-“Silver Faery" Premium Arab Mare, ideal brood mare. Sire was ridden arable champion H.O.Y.S. This mare has the correct breeding to go far, would be a fantastic endurance prospect, mother won endurance marathons. She has exceptional paces and is now ready to break. If this mare makes over £1,000, we are prepared to offer a free covering with our full TB stallion “Danehill” ½ brother to “Dansili” and “Rock of Gibraltar”, which would give you a very well bred Anglo Arab.

Sounds lovely breeding! You wonder if they should be offering a breeding in this climate. It just shows how dire times are getting if a filly like that has to go through the sale ring. It'd be lovely to see a picture; I'm intrigued... |

Hi I went to see this mare when she was for sale in 2008. It is a shame she has ended up at the auction.

I wholeheartedly agree with BabsR I also believe that ALL breeders should have to pass an exam and pay a yearly fee and be inspected by a relevant body to ensure they and their stock are up to standard. The fee should be £1000 per year. This would stop a lot of indiscriminate breeding, and those who truely love horses would be prepared to go without their own wishes and wants if they cant afford it or dont have suitable facilities. |

Joto - I think the cost of registration is high enough without having to pay an extra £1000!!! And who defines 'relevant standard'. My vets would vet a horse as a 'horse', not necessarily as an arab!! |

She is £4500 on 1 site. There's a video clip & she looks a lovely mare.
Such a shame not to have already found a great ridden home. |

She was for sale fairly near me for £4,500 and now is further away - west Wales - for £750. Wonder what's gone wrong in the intervening time?
Judith, fancy another Arab? She's fairly near you |

Be very careful if any of you are thinking about buying her!
She was sold to someone last year as "prof backed" but it turned out that she was sent home as un rideable,
She will not let a farrier anywhere near her or vets!
So be very sure you are confident enough to take this mare on, she has been returned to the seller quite recently,
She is this price for a reason!
I love the breeding but I wouldn't take her on

If it's a physical problem why she can't be ridden, then I wouldn't want her for breeding but I wonder if something happened to her? I've got a very patient trimmer who is brilliant with difficult horses, so that's not such an issue.
I did wonder why she's so cheap, will PM you Linda. |
