Hi Everyone,
Yes Ang, I think Mayday ( he was born on the 1st of May) looks the part, but I am a bit worried, I showed him to our vet last week to see if she thought he was ready to race and she thinks he has perfect confirmation, must mean he's going to be very very slow! Anyway I can't wait for Arnie to run, but it looks like with his size we will have to wait until he's atleast 4, but as he's already jumped out over a 5 foot hedge twice, looks like he may go show jumping! Just don't know where that white face came from, but atleast we will see him comming. All the best all

Hi Sam,
Endurance horses are comming along well, we have our assessment for the british development squad comming up next week and then hopefully we will get selected to go to Sangatte in france on the 19th of April, but our main aim is to get 1 or hopfully both of the boy's to do a 100 miles in a day during the season, I bet they both wish they were back racing! Are you going to do any more Endurance this season?

Hi Carol,
Glad you liked the "feature" and good luck with Frenchie and Mystic keep us posted on your progress!
Mayday looks great and I do like Vert Olive's he rarely throws a bad one. Arnie's a big bold beauty and think gets his white face from his sire Bengali D'Albret who sadly is no longer available by AI!!!
Whens your Dantes Dream x Nizam foal due?

Hi Carol, Hoping to do some novice endurance this year with a few of them (not quite in the same league as yours!!). Really want to do the marathon as well - last year was cancelled, and the year before that Mehshiv started coughing a week before:(. - I'm determined to do it this year, so will enter 6 just to be sure!!). You must be excited about baby! We have a Kaolino foal due this year out of On The Wing. Just the one in foal for this year. She's due in May. |

well I think Peaches might get to do a couple of 20 milers this year - not exactly in Carols league either!!! the marathon is my aim too but cant do it this year, have to wait till she is 7 and by then they will probably have cancelled it forever or moved it up to n.yorkshire - aaargh. So in the meantime have decided to take angs advice and am busy looking on e bay for pink equine wet suit, flippers and surf board (she said she wants pink). Sorry -just got back from girlies night out and a bit worse for wear!!!!!!!! |

I have just spent all my free time during the last week pressure washing out ten stables in preparation for the horses coming in. Fred is going to fix the holes in the roof and do any other repairs and my friend Chris has made us a new ramp for the muck cart.
Proof that the season is not far away.
How's everyone else's repairs etc coming along.

The mud in Surrey is really bad, that said my calf muscles are coming along nicely and I've lost about 6 lbs in weight, maybe I should renew my jockey licence, anyone whoever saw me will know it was an entertaining sight!!!
Sky is coming along nicely lunging away, and everynight before I bring her in I hope on her back, mind you she is standing in one of the gateways and the mud keeps her from legging it, still she doesn't seem at all bothered which is encouraging!! Hope to have her backed and ridden away by March and then over to you Ang in April!
Sam how ironic I am also 21!!! Well 21 plus 9 at the end of Feb....very depressed to be saying goodbye to my 20's!!!!
Is Gazal in training this season David?

The way he canters down the field for his food, whereas Cavalier conserves his energy and just walks, I think he has started his training already. He is already a handful waiting to explode. Along with Notid, Anganate Safinat, Kings Cavalier, he has been registered to race already. I hope to get the go ahead to race Plus who may have Sabez' attentions thrust on her again, and El Buba if he comes through from his tendon operation will be racing at the latter end of the season.

grand national must be an amazing experience. its great too, to be able to breathe a big sigh of relief at the end when no horses have been seriously injured....or worse. I bet those fences are completely awesome close up - couldnt even contemplate jumping them!!! |

On those occasions in the mid 1980's - when the AHS used Aintree for race meetings - walking the course and standing by those fences was awesome and made us all thankful that arabs were only there for flat racing . |

Hi Ada,
I think we are all very jealous of you in Oz, horrible here wet and raining and snow forcast. In another life I would have emigrated to Oz and lived in Byron Bay as a hippy (I loved it there when I was backpacking round the East coast)!!
I love the Aintree meeting but my fav National Hunt one is Cheltenham. That said they all pail in insignificance compared with the most amazing horse racing meeting which is of course Arabian Racings Dubai Day!!
As for the Prix De L'Arc De triomphe this year the first race on the card at that meeting will be a Group 1 Arab race which should be fascinating!
David - looking forward to seeing Plus on the track she improved with every run last year!

Hi,
I remember riding around Antree in the 1980's it was brilliant and comming into that old unsaddling enclosure was a memory I will not forget. No season not far away, Mushammer came in yesterday, his shoes are going on Monday, away we go!! Just wish the sun would start shinning.

yes Carol, I remember Aintree too but only rode 6 furlongs of it. For some reason cant remember looking at the jumps though - maybe didnt have time what with walking the course etc or else have gone senile and because they were so enormous have totally blanked them from my mind! |
