Hi Kate
Sam (and her partner Adam) are my trainers!! They have turned around my 'no hopers' into winners and I will never be able to thank them enough-small world!!
Please try and get better for Dubai Day-I know that Sam will be very busy with her runners on that day but hopefully I will have one if not two runners (or maybe none-you know what horses can be like!) and we should meet up to enjoy the day. Please e-mail me nearer the time to let me know if up you are are feeling up to it.

Sam-onwards and upwards another year beckons!!
You may have to do without Kizhi in the lower ranks though (ha ha!)-Let her off this morning after a day in.Fly-bucked twice and then fell over in the mud! Got up pretty quickly looking around to see if that was on camera and then ran around for about 5 mins tail over back, snorting and being a general****, frightened Khan to death who then had to join in!! Happy days-don't you just love em. |

That's unusual in winter Ang. Hope she recovers. You'll find out tonight and tomorrow whether your roof is fixed - more rain on the way! |

oh joy more rain. Thanks Sammy & Moosie, she has cushings as well the two things go together apparently it doesnt take much to tip them over, richer haylage, frosty night can even trigger it, well thats what the vet said anyway, so we will see how she goes over the weekend, she responded fast the last time she had it but it looks worst this time. My horse is out now until tomorrow night when Estival's owner becomes my new neighbor tomorrow, and he has spare loose boxes i can use, he is such a nice chap, it will be great to have him around. Hi Sam-thanks for asking, getting there-slowly! Been back to A&E today who are changing the dressings as I can't bear to look at it!! How's your weather? The rivers burst its banks here and the back road out of the village has been closed for two days now.The bottom two fields of the park are under water and all the sheepies have been evacuated-unfortunately to the paddock adjoining the bottom yard where they keep jumping on and off what was my perfect muck-heap!! Good job Blob's not here, all the water would give him a heart attack!! Ang-hee hee! Perfect description! Fingers crossed for Kate. I really hope all goes well.

ang, yes cushings and laminitis do def go together, there is a drug you can give to help with the cushings, lots of info on the laminitis trust website, also lots of people on here who have experience of it all.think cushings is related to the pituarity gland. although its been so horrendously wet its also been mild which might mean the grass (or even the haylage) may have more sugar content than she can cope with - frost is also a big danger but we havent had that here - dont know about you. she could een have been traumatised by something which can also trigger the lamnitis, just charging around when shes hovering "on the brink" of getting it could be the trigger. |

Great news today, Rocket, El Buba, has had his three month scan after a split tendon operation and it looks good. Still a way to go walking in hand before being ridden, but the vet hopes he will be able to race again near the end of the season.
Also to update you on Plus, she sadly absorbed the foal. Carolyn her owner hasn't decided whether to try to put her in foal again to Sabex or even his younger brother Rocket. She has said that if she can afford to race her again she will be on the team.
And of course like everyone we are all squelching around in mud !!!!!

That's good news about Rocket David. Those things take a long time. Sorry to hear about Plus's foal. At least she is ok, and still young enough to try again. Really bored with the rain now! It's horizontal this morning - hence I'm having a longer breakfast in the hope it will stop!! |

She is much more comfortable now thanks Sammy, shes on pain killers and anti inflamatories, she already had heart bars on, we have to knock back the medication a bit next week to see how she is doing. Thanks Moosie yes that's correct shes been on pergalone at varying doses for past three years, anyway the vet thinks it was the frost two days before that triggered it rather then the haylage. David (BXPS) Good news about Rocket-look at the others that have had problems and gone on to success-Pavot Al Kyle and Almost All to name just two, so all crossed for a good outcome. So sorry to hear the news about Plus but as Sam says she's young enough to try again. Ang-will keep fingers crossed that Kate is ok after the medication is knocked down. Sam-Come and get me out of this nightmare rainsoaked senario-with K&K in 24/7 my well-being is suffering!! |

good news about Rocket and fingers crossed for Kate. Shame about Plus though - its always so sad when that happens. sam, they said it was going to be dry here too but I think they were joking. Even our sjumping (all weather surface and warm up ring) was cancelled. Just as well, reckon the lorry park (grass) would have been a sight to behold! Peaches is VERY BORED now. Would go to the beach for a jolly but the waves are monstrous at the moment and the wind doesnt half whistle along the sand. |

I hate Surrey its official. I went away with work for a few days and came back late to feed the horses and nearly drowned in the mud, I thought it was supposed to be dryer this winter....why do the weather men always tell lies????
Ang hope Kate feels better soon, and get Colin up on that roof with a hammer and nails he's a man of leisure now!
David sorry to hear about Plus, last season alot of mares had trouble concieving and many re-absorbing due to rapidly changing weather, and it was her first foal too, give her another go it will be fine but Rocket or Sabez I can see a sibling fight!!! My mare Barryh took two attempts at AI to get in foal (now confirmed in foal to Jiyush for May 08) and she is highly fertile whilst Aliesha (dam of 2 to date) enjoyed a "summer of love" from June to August last year at my expense notching up 2 different stallions and returning home as barren as the desert!!!! Breeding can be a heart breaking but when it goes right its incredibly rewarding!
Excellent news about Rocket looking forward to seeing him back on the track!

Thanks Sam. Am determined to see this one out (stand by for a phone call!!). Local radio has called us Collyweston-on Sea! Please go and pick up Ang's gang and then we can hi-jack Estival and her two fab newbies and she will never know!! Hope she doesn't see this!! On a note of some concern-has anyone heard from or seen Carol as it is so not like her to join in a racing thread. |
