She looks tall to me in the pictures, i did ask they said she is quite tall (lady in the pic with her is 5ft 10) so i'm thinking maybe a bit more than 14.2, i saved a pic of Paris at the time but my computer has since crashed and lost all my documents, from what i remember of her i'm not convinced it is the same mare!

Well done Bigmac
I feel sure that your little mare will reward you for years to come. I too have a 'golden oldie'. Her name is Roody, aka Shulay Montana. After an initial flurry of vet bills and lots of tlc needed, she is now flourishing. I don't regret for one minute taking this special lady in and am sure you will feel the same with your girlie!

Thankyou all.....i'm a big fan of the "Golden Oldies" our oldest girl is 30 and still loves getting out, she was at the beach last summer still pulling my arms out, she also did a charity ride in the summer raising money for a local hospice, she's come through the winter very well again and i'm sure will be enjoying many more summers also have a 21 year old arab mare, who has not been ridden for the past 2 years but very much enjoys walks out in hand still, my daughters pony is 18 and just a baby I'm sure this girly will find her place amongst them and they can all shuffle about with there zimmer frames together

Hi Bigmac! Well done!! I've got loads of rugs - all sorts for all conditions of inside, out, occasions and temperatures. They are 5'9 -6ft and free for your efforts with the pretty mare. I can happily bring them up to you! When i was in contact (!) with the mare's previous "owner" she said that she was 15.1 -2hh, which she looks like she is. I'm pleasantly suprised at her condition in the photo - not as bad as I had feared; feet dont look too bad either, in terms of length and shape. Wonder what the story behind all this is then...? I have spare bridles, headcollars, buckets etc, if you need them. Ryazan has been sooo spoilt over the years that he has at least three of everything and at the last count, about 40 rugs -which is why you can have some of them! All clean, re-proofed where nec and in very good condition; Only the best for our precious Arabs!

Oh bless you, thankyou so much, that's so kind....yes i think she looks around the 15hh mark and i too was very suprised when i saw the photo's i was expecting something very very poor and she looks very bright and alert and in not too bad condition, all things considered. I just can't wait to meet her, she's had a comfortable night tucked up in a stable munching on haylage in essex, i'm hoping to collect her tomorrow and bring her home, are you in essex Zooscat? maybe if so it would be possible to meet up with you when i come to collect her?

I have the head pic of Paris. I can't post pictures, but if someone wants to message me their email I can forward the photo. Paris was flea bitten grey, I don't think it looks the same, but it isn't a good photo.

Pleased to say the lovely lady is coming home in the morning, her stable is needed so i was asked to collect her before sunday, couldn't arrange any transport and wasn't able to use the farms truck (it was needed on the farm) so in my desperation this morning i popped along to the local car yard who luckily had a trade in on the forecourt with a towbar, so home i came with 2 cars trailer all ready so we're off for an early start so can have her settled back in Norfolk by lunchtime, she's turned into an expensive little lady (and the other half got quite a shock when he arrived home from work and found he had nowhere to park ) Thinking of calling her "Laguna" (guess what car i got!! )

Reading between the lines on the rescue forum, I think there was a misunderstanding on ownership. It would appear that the rescue site own the mare and bigmac would be loaning her under contract or not, as the case may be.
I could be wrong though

I thought the site owner was a friend how come such a misunderstanding ? did the rescue pay for her or you ? such a shame but at least she is safe i suppose
