Thanks Di I am now down to 77! I have meft messages with some breeders today and spoke to a couple. I got all excited this afternoon when Mr Paget who bred Simply Divine thought it could be her because their markings were so similar. They lost touch with the people who bought the mare as a yearling and don't know where she ended up. Then he dug out an old video and thought that Simply Divine's blaze would not be as wide as Pixie's. I am going to send him a photo before I rule her out completely though, 4 years is a long time and markings can change. Also, has anyone heard of Brede Bonissima bred by Mr D Fielding? Apparently he sold a lot of his mares a while back so there is another possible.
I owe you all a bottle of wine after all this help! Each of course! Debbie |

Don't make rash promises that's an awful lot of wine! I think we are all intrigued to see who your mare is.
If you find she was born in 1997 you can eliminate Mandareine as I bred her and have her. |

Gedaljia is a very dark chestnut - Silverdale sold her to Vicky Levanda who sold her on to a friend in Cambs.; Psayada Bint Psyche is a VERY famous mare and currently at Sax Arabians, Germany. Pretty sure Artizana Pavlova is still at Artizana (was 2 years ago).

My friend has a chestnut mare born in 1998, called Crystal Bright Topaz - so I guess you can eliminate her... So is that 76 to go and counting? Good Luck! Fiona |

Bless your souls! I am now down to 82, I counted wrong before and it was 87 not 77 (sorry). I have been on the phone to breeders all weekend and several should phone me back with answers. There are some that I didn't put on the list as they were imported, but I may have been wrong. These are Asali, Dakota, Metelica, Mifologia, Minisheq and Nabellina. I am on the hunt for late 2001 and early 2002 copies of The Horse Exchange as someone has told me that Pixie may have been for sale in them under another name. I am also trying to get a copy of the 1998 stud book as I have been told that horses markings are shown in them.

Debbie,
Don't know how much help this will be but Marbon Maika will have been bred by Diane Ellis of the Marbon Arab/AA Stud. She has recently moved so perhaps someone knows her new phone number??????
Also it may be worth phoning my lovely friend Gill Bryon from Antoon Arabians in Snodland, Kent. She owns Prince Shazani (sire of Kings Flight and still going strong at 29) as I recall the name Shazanis Princess - I think she didn't breed her but will probably know who did. Have you an email address?
You say you recognise some of the breeders names. Do you know the name of their studs which may help you trace some phone numbers? e.g. Mrs Ratcliff + J Lowe is the Claverdon Stud (I believe), Susan George is Georgian Arabians, S Conner and C Court is Woodfields Arabians, etc
I also believe that one of the ladies mentioned is now married to/partner of our very own Paul Atkinson????? REALLY sorry if if I've got that wrong!!!!!!
Jayne Van Lennep can be contacted via the horse feed company Simple Systems.

Hi Vera and the lovely Dennis! That is actually my problem. I got the names of the breeders from the Arab Datasource web site and they only state names and 'UK', no names of studs and most of the time not even an area. I have contacted all of the breeders on my list whose addresses are on this web sites stud list, but the others may have only bred one horse. I spoke to the AHS today about their stud list and it costs £10, so I think I will have to send off for that, my worry is that some studs don't put down the owners names, just the stud name, so it mught not help!!! I have got Marbon Maika as bred by Susan Baglioni? |

Debbie,
I'm not a breeder but I do know for 100% sure that Diane Ellis is the Marbon Stud - perhaps the mare was on breeding loan for something. She was very local to me until she moved recently taking the Marbon Stud with her. She is very approachable if you can get her number - someone on here must now it?!!! In fact someone who posts on here owns a Marbon horse!!! Purebred names begin with Marbon M.......
The book the AHS talk about might be useful but it is in no way a complete listing of studs. Probably less than half are listed as they have to pay to be in it!!
I think you should contact the Arabian Link magazine and see if they will print an article or advert for you.
Wishing every luck in the world
Vera and Dennis

Thanks again Vera I have been advised by someone else to advertise in the Arabian Link magazine so I am hunting down a website or phone number. The new AHS registry people are really helpful, they say that I should do a horse markings sheet, like you do for the passports, and send it to them to see if they can help. I so hope I find Pixie's real name and breeding, then we might be able to meet you all at a show!

JOHARA A'TAJ (Diamond Star x Raqisa) is still here at home with me. One more for you to remove from your list - good luck with the rest!
