Well done stuart - told you it was easy
Yes Dargee (Manasseh x Myola) bred by G H Ruxton at Craven Lodge, Mond Sherborne. Just a note that Manasseh and Myola were also bred by G H Ruxton - Lady Wentworth could see the worth of this fantastic colt - she purchased him at an early age.
What an impression he has made on all the Crabbet horses to this date - what a great pity that "Crabbet" heritage do not include his full siblings into their acceptance of what is or is not "Crabbet".
IF HIS BLOOD WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR LADY WENTWORTH WHO ARE WE TO SAY THE REST OF THIS BLOOD IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Sorry my little gripe
Come on stuart it's your turn to post now |

Hi Stuart,
"Negatiw" (S.Naseem. D.Taraszcza.) Born at Tersk Stud Russia in 1945
His first male foal at Tursk, as fare as I know was Nabor 1950 out of Lagodna He sired 12 stallions in his time at Tersk, the last was to be as famous as the first his name was Salon 1959 out of Sonata. And strangely enough is first Colt foal at SK Janów Podlaski was none other than Bandos 1964 out of Bandola.
Now Negatiw´s first female foal at Tersk was Nezabudka 1950 out of Jutrzenka Ofiru and his last at Tersk was Mantia 1959 out of Mammona a total of 16 mares.
One of note is Karmen out of Kopna, who was the dame of Komplekt 1973 by Patron the moving legend, so I will have to say `
KARMEN
Anne this is one you choose Panorama 1958(Negatiw - Privilegia)
And Negatiw 1945( NASEEM ex TARASZCZA)
And His son Nabor 1950(NEGATIW ex LAGODNA)
Regards
Bob

Hi Cate, BIG BIG Congatulations,
IT IS indeed Crusader (Salaa El Dine x AK Kastana)
For others that are learning Arabians, he was a Big supper horse, loved by all that saw him and bred ON.
But my pick was his MUM I just loved this mare to pieces AK Kastana was for me in my top 20 of Mares in the last 100 years
Lynda,
Still worried obout Caroline, any news Please
Bob

Dear Bob -
Would love to hear Your motivation for AK Kastana's placement on Your private Top 20 list. I have seen alot of her children/grandchildren and she would have been a success in my book with Crusader and Sensation (by Shahin) as only children. There has been said about her however that herself as an individual was not especially good but what came out of her was exceptional. Something to learn about breeding here?? |

Thank you, Bob
Must say I got a great deal of satisfaction of seeing the pic and knowing the horse.....a horse I love although never saw him in the flesh...generally either not sure who they are, or not the time to look thru the books.....feeling smug today
What's the saying........"I do like when a plan comes together"....well something like that! |

Thanks Linda, this is such a good thread and so much information. How fortunate you were to see Crusader in the flesh. Big boy as was another of my favourites ...El Shaklan....so much for those who say they lose type if too big! I have a filly who is x 2 El Shaklan and she will be 3 towards the end of January....just wondering when she will stop growing as she is big/tall, but quite typey. Took that mine of information, Mike, to tell me El Shaklan was 16hh...look like I'm in for a big filly!!

An "easy" one to fill in while someone posts more of a brain teaser
This chap had a super female line, tracing back to Dajania and boy what an ambassador he has been

Would anyone like to contribute to the Arabianlines magazine. We would really like to have articles on stallions and mares of yester-year, and there seem to be many highly knowledgeable folk here. |
