Just as a little extra This was Bashida's husband in producing Nashida - NIZZAM (Rissam x Nezma) I think he was later exported to USA.

Herewith is a photo that appeared on the front page of Riding Magazine, Winter Number (Jan-Mar) 1944. Title "Arab Mares at Crabbet Park". Can anyone hazzard a guess at who they are? I don't know, so it would be great to find out.

If photo was taken the year before???? say 1943 then how about first chestnut Sharfina (1937) and possibly Sharima (1932) Will try and dig deeper

Well Pashon - Silver Fire was 1926 and Grey Royal 1942 - so maybe either, but would think Grey Royal would have been a darker grey.

Yes, it is Nasmeshnik (Arax x Neposeda), resident at Horsey Island. The photo is from a stud advert in the AHS News 1973.
I had never seen photos of him before, so was very excited when I recently found this and another one from 72 I think. This one is the best though.
I don't know who took the photo, but have heard rumours that Lord Snowdon was at Horsey Island once for a photo shoot - perhaps he took it?

| It was a guess - but at the back of my mind (fuzzy) I remember seeing this photo in a back issue of AHS news. Now you see if I can get them right there are a lot more out there that could do the same. |

Just wanted to say 'hi!'.Am new to the quiz,have just finished reading through it all(not all at once!)I'm trying to broaden my knowledge,but so far haven't got ANY right! V impressed by everyone's knowledge,and loved the pic of Indian Magic.He's in my boy's pedigree and I think there is a striking resemblence! |
