Congratulations William and Tamarillo - Winners of Burghley - and an Anglo-Arab too. He really looks as if he enjoys it all. What an ambassador for the breed.

Watched on bbc today, well done, but I did wonder at the riding style of Mary King, if she had not just got such an amazing result you would swear she'd never been on a horse before at some of the cross country jumps. |

A wonderul result for Tamarillo, Finn and Mary Guinness. Well done all round - and in the catalogue Tamarillo is described as an Anglo Arab (not quite correct, tho not far off, but at least the word Arab is in there!)
He is by the AHS Premium Stallion, Tarnik, Part Bred Arab bred by Janow Podlaski. Tarnik won the AHS Marathon in 1977 ridden by Patrick Kempe. Tam is out of the mare Melita (by Lord of Arabia TB) who traces back to Bold Ruler and Nasrullah.
I shall raise my glass of wine tonight to a wonderufl win!

Absolutely magic! But have to say they've deserved this... lots of up's and downs on the way.. How lovely,
Maybe a message for all of us ..,If you have a dream stick with it- this is a home bred horse - I don't think it's been picked up on yet. Great result. |

SUPERB result!!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful for Tamarillo to parade/do a dressage display at the AHS Show??? (Where he won in-hand as a youngster!) |

Apologies, I got the breeding incorrect. Mellita, dam of Tamarillo is by Master Spiritus (and not as above!)and out of the Pure Bred mare Darya.
Mea culpa!

Well done all in Tamarillo's camp. What a wonderful result.
I must just point out to Di Ellis and all who read the catalogue that Tamarillo is PART-BRED and not Anglo as stated on many previous occasions. You can't be nearly Anglo, you either are or not. This highlights the confusion that would exist if we had section 11 Anglos and also how World Class our Part-breds are.

Brilliant, what a horse! Must admit though I was a bit confused as to how he could be described as an Anglo when I looked up his pedigree on all breeds! Have just checked again and am even more confused!! his maternal granddam on all breeds is a Hannovarian not an Arab... this is incorrect isn't it ? |

I was looking at the right Tamarillo ... his sire and dam were correct but the pedigree of his dam was incorrect ... by lord of Arabia ex an unnamed hanovarian! as if by magic it is correct again now... the wonders of technology! Sorry to be a pain... Lisa |

Fantastic result. What an exciting afternoon's TV. William F-P made the cross country look so easy on Tamarillo! I hope we'll be able to capitalise on this at the AHS stall at HOYS this year!! |
