Happy New Year Angela and everyone.
Our little team are still out in the paddocks on their winter break. Notid and Anganate Safinat, Gazal and tb Kings Cavalier will be the nucleus of our racing this season. Fingers crossed that Rocket (El Buba) will recover from his tendon opperation and be able to race lightly,I haven't talked to Plus' owner to see whether she will continue in training, and I am not sure what to do with my favourite anglo Call Me Risky who seems to have lost the urge to race.
We have plenty of space in the yard to take in some other horses but have nothing in the pipeline at the moment.
Now that christmas is behind us it will not be long before the horses are back in and we are riding six days a week.
Exciting times ahead

I'm excited even though I won't be racing this season. I have my first racing saddle and I just need to get the right girths/stirrups/leathers for it but I have no idea what size to get - any advice?
I'll also need some tips of how to ride in a racing saddle as I've never done it and am sure to fly off a few times!!!
I'd like to come to one of the training sessions at Lingfield with Anubis this year if I am welcome and won't get in the way.
I'll also be attending as many races as I can get to so if anyone needs an extra pair of hands on deck you know where to find me. |

Oh wow, Call Me Risky. Nice chap I knew his parents, Risk Me's stud Manager and his breeder. I like to keep an eye out for how he is doing.
do you have any photos of him you could post?

Hi Ang, hope you had a good one in USA. Peaches cant wait either, this dressage and jumping is just NOT enough! She has a new little friend for a while - Star(Pronikas baby) so is playing nanny whilst waiting to be allowed to start doing the fun stuff. |

Hi Rebekah, I would gladly help you out with the racing position etc. I was taught by an ex jockey to the Queen (a million years ago)!! I think we are quite close? I'm in Heathfield. |

Yes, you are only 40 minutes from me. Anubis is liveried in Whatlington, just outside Battle.
We have no transport though :-( I think we'll have to loan something so we can come to Lingfield to train.
I'd love it if you could give us some tips. There's so much to learn and I want us ready to have a maiden season in 2009. |

Hi Happy New Year to you as well. David,i wish i had some spare stables, i have more horses then stables, and in this weather its a real pain. Moosie, i had a fantastic time in America thanks, i could stay there very happily, so you have Star with you she is a cracking filly, are you going to train her with Peaches for this season, i really hope she gets to race . Rebeckah extra pair of hands on raceday is always great come and meet us, it will be great experience for you, believe you helped Dave last season at a meeting, so you must have enjoyed it. Hi All,
Happy new year to everyone!
There are races for 3 yr olds in the UK from I beleive June or July onwards maidens are open to them and at our big Dubai Day Meeting there is Group 3 Juvenile race (for 3 yr olds only) over 7 furlongs.
I think 2008 is going to be a great year for racing with the season kicking off on 3rd May at Taunton and stretching too 25th October at Windsor.
As for me I will sadly not be training next year due to work commitments and lack of facilities etc etc!!!. So my pride and joy Sakeena Sky Zayin (Karmah x Sweet Simplicity) my 5 yr old homebred filly will be going into training with Angela (Ang678) and I can't wait to see her race (as an owner/trainer/jockey I won the heart of england maiden stakes on her dam. Also for the pedigree junkies out there Sky is 80 % Egyptian her sire Karmah traces to Ansata Halim Shah whilst her dam is by SES Pashas Mirat out of Sky Scilla by Saab from the wonderful Silvretta Sky & Nawarra dam line. A priceless pedigree.....but can she run....we'll soon find out!

giving it another 3 weeks or so to get a bit more light before pulling them in from the fields - roll on spring and warmer weather. |

Hi Angela have 2 at the moment who will train and may race this year. one 4 year old by sun al maury (Fr) x zakzak(galleon(pl), and a 5 y/o by the wiking(usa) x tamina (Fr). not expecting much from either as both a bit backward, but as long as they seem competitive and can get a decent aro rating to get a choice of races they should race this year. time is a bit of a problem as trying to juggle parenthood and work with training and riding! not much luck finding work riders round our way at the moment. |

Hopefully should have 10 - 12 for next year. Looking forward to the babies racing!! We have Whisper (The wiking/Sucha) - a half sister to Kizhi, Pinkie Tuscadero (Izentespechal/Altyv), Dibba (Djoumis De Leyres/Vert Galante (half sister to Bengalant) and the ones that raced last year. How is your colt by Samern going? Can't wait to see him race (he's related to the mare we have - Northfield). So what else ya got everyone?! Paul, yours sound very nice - is Sun al Maury your stallion? Your mare is beautifully bred too. |

sammie are those the two from york sales? I still cant believe it was necessary for them to end up there!! ang Im sure Star will get the chance to have a go when shes ready shes just getting a bit of general education at the moment (mud, water, moorland tracks, manners, scary plastic, ghosts etc etc)-I expect you have a real soft spot for her having trained her mum for so long. Did her mum eat for England? Star would eat till she exploded if given the chance I reckon! |

Hi Ang & all not sure if my two may be a bit old now and been off the track for a while, mind you the 14 yr old feels better than he did than when he was 7 !!! old monkey - and plenty of oppourtunities for the lower rated neds, and sure Riasha would be well happy to get back to it, also have my 4yr old anglo filly 50/50 which I originally bought with racing in mind - but she managed to turn herself into a show horse !! so will start her off shortly and see what her attitude is like, she has so far been very laid back like her sire. so who knows - not going to plan - best laid and all that, just get them fit and go from there Debbie |

Hi Guys it all sounds great, your horses sound fab Paul hope you find a work rider makes life so much easier, but i know it can be hard to find someone who can ride ! Moosie Pronika was a big eater she never stopped but she never got fat even when on holiday, wish i could say the same Sammy your lot sound great, i thought Dibba was for sale on here, i am a bit lost, how does york horse sales fit in one of my owners tryed to buy her back in August but they wanted to much an wouldnt drop the price, hence my interest, colt is going fine hes grown a lot! Firstlady it would be great if you come back, especially with an anglo Ang x |

ang, interesting about Pronika - all I can say is that young Star has a sort of "rounded" appearance, lets just say "well covered"!!!! and "enthusiastic" at meal times and until nothing edible remains within reach!!!!!!!!!!! there was a post on here last year about two fillies (from a racing yard in the north, no point in mentioning any names) ending up at York sales. Sam managed to track them down, after the sale (I think) and now has them =a story with a lucky and happy ending for once. |
