Just A Legend. Gr F. 1989. Bred by Peter kaniewski by MC Legend out of MC deerwood Justa. In 1997 she had a grey filly for Pegi, by Secret Partner but in 2000 she had a CH Colt for Mr G Hingley & Ms K Killick 2001 no return. So we can probably rule her out too. |

Hi Jill. That would be the same chestnut born in 2000 and bred by Hingley & Killick, can you try to find out if they still have the mare please ? then Moldequine can cross it off the list.
Thanks

hi dont know them, just got the info from recognising the name but its certainly the same chestnut. In the racecard Barnshill Warrier is down as being trained by K D Malpass from Worcs and the contact number for him (on the ARO web site) is 07896 860817 or 01562 865723. He will have the contact details for Mr Hingley so if someone is brave enough to phone it might be worth a shot. |

FORGOT THAT MC LADY MISTERI IS BAY SO THAT LEAVES JABASK SAKARA, ALSO MC NATALIE JABASK IS REGISTERED AS BAY BUT COULD HAVE TURNED GREY AS IN BASKY`S PASSPORT IT SAYS SHE IS GREY. |

Basky's papers have a spelling mistake about the breeder (says MS Arabians not MR S Arabians) so I wouldn't place too much emphasis on what they say (breeder could have had terrible writing)!!!
Not sure how much DNA testing costs but you are welcome to a peice of hair!!! |

DNA testing via the mane hair is less than £20 and you just pull the hair out yourself and so there are no vets fees.
She may not have been bred by Pegi but maybe one of the ones that was imported, she would be the right sort of age. She could even be Jacici - born 1986 and the dam of my grey mare. Unfortunately I dont know the colour of Jacici, but to be honest she doesn't seem the same type as my grey - that doesn't always mean she cant be the dam.

Sian, was spot on with the breeding of my chestnut mare but then greys are more difficult to distinguish I think - I haven't proved she is right about my grey yet - haven't heard from the AHS - I do hope they haven't lost my identification form as well. |

My mare isnt as well built as the other arabs ive seen on here, she is very fine boned, but she may look finer as she has periodonitis in her teeth so is always a bit underweight no matter what i feed her and she has a foal on her. Hopefully this has now been resolved, had the dentist do an operation on her last week and the dentist said it was the worst case he had ever seen!! He has drilled the gaps in the teeth wider so the food doesnt get as stuck. Have you had much success with this treatment? as your a horse dentist arnt u ? |

Jacici was a bay mare born 20.5.86.
I have the Brightwells catalogue from 1998 when about 35 of Pegi's horses were sold, so if there is any info from that I can give you let me know

Hi Annette, I was at that sale, but have failed to find the catalogue, is there any chance of coping those entries, or listing the horses names/breeding, did you record any buyers etc. & Not Jacici if she's Bay... Sue. |

Thanks Annette, Its another part of this sad jigsaw, I know that many only cleared the reserve and the local meat man had several, I enquired about them the following week when my own PBA died from old age, thought I'd pick up a couple to run on, he said the girls had had their pick & the rest went on the meat. I remember at the sale, one lady bought a few & paid around £200+ for some of the bigger ones, this might have been Mollie or Daphne, at least it might help. Thanks again...Sue |

Hi Molde, Its got me thinking, maybe Gerry did'nt take them to Turners, but, took them up to Beeston and then your other pal, Mr Savage just might have had some of them, or anyone else, might be worth keeping an open mind and see if any of these have/do turn up any where else along the way, its almost 9 years ago, I think, maybe Annette would just confirn the date of this Brightwells Malvern Sale, and these dealers are notorious for telling fibs, I also heard that Gerry split them and half went to Les ?? in South Wales. All very intesting, pity I can't find my catalouge as I'd have marked it up... Keep at it you'll win through in the end, were all one hundred percent behind you...Sue |
