Brilliant photos Ronnie and Jude - I bought my foundation mare, Queen Yasimet, in-foal to Ibn Elijah (Ralvon Elijah x Duenna). She produced a very tall and gangly colt foal, he stood 15.2hh at 5yrs and he had a massive sense of humour!!!!! So many thanks for the photos.

Oh Rosy Sue, what a lovely boy - so powerful looking and that super front. I can imagine him crossing any terrain. If his temperament is anything like Nandinas" he must be great to be around. Thanks for showing him here.R |

Tahir - interesting isn"t it? Often wondered how and where Duenna grew up. Nice to hear their cv"s! You mention the colt in the past tense, what happened to him?nnn |

Sorry for the delayed answer Rozy Rider. Unfortunately the colt "Joe" had an undetected heart condition and died in his sleep when he was 6 yrs. Such a shame as he was well loved and had a very promising future.
Carla, xx.
PS: Your photos are brill, what a strapping boy, and yes I wish bays would come back into "fashion" also!! |

Nimlat & Tahir, Glad you like my pic's. He has a very quiet nature and loves all the TLC he can get loves his ears rubbed and puts his head on your shoulder, but, no slug to ride, walks at 5mph and likes to be out in front and at times you can tell he's son of the 1995 sprint Champion and not forgetting he has the biggest feet in town, I was told like his mother.
Ronnie, Did you know Jaymet(1987)s.Elijah d.Nimet...

Rosanne No, Nimet went to the Maxwell"s from Tollard. I think they only bred Jahmet and Niman from her.I have never seen either of these. Yes, Nandina had good feet. |

Thanks Sue, yes it"s nice seeing a picture of North Wind. I didn"t know he was shown under saddle - perhaps my memory is worse than I thought!!! Nimet foaled Niman in 1989 - ch/gr colt by Soliman. Nesreen in 1990 - bay colt by Persimmon. Nimet herself died in 1993. Hope you like these new pics Still need to hunt for my Rosevean era photos. Ron |

Hi Ronnie, I realy do appreciate the Nandina photo's, those are very special for me...Thank you....now if you go hunting for the Rosevean pic's we'll be here till Christmas 2010, I've just found a bundle from the 70ies....with one of my North Wind filly (Floret) on her first outing under saddle at Birmingham Show 1973(below), and another just getting pipped to 2nd, at Madresfield under saddle....those were the days......
Solway North Wind (1966).Malvern first and maybe only outing under saddle.. enough of the part breds, back to the pure breds...
NAZRAN (1986) s.Ravlon Elijah(1978)15h.Ch.d.Nandina(1980)15h.Grey. |

Yes Sue, Love Floret, did she grow taller than North Wind? She looks bigger. Isn"t Nazran great? I foaled him and named him. He was Nandina"s last foal for Tollard. |

Ronnie,Can you tell me, did Nandina get sold soon after 1986, I know she was bought by M.Al Badie and I think she spent the next few year at Water Farm, before they gave her to Jane Van Lennop. she had her last foal with Jane, she sent me a couple of snaps, but, I had no idea she'd been showing, quite a nice surprise and collectables these photos... Just reading the bit about Elijah in America from 1987, so I think that must have been the year when Tollard finished...Nazran did well in the Paris show as a youngster and he's not too far from me in Worcestershire,so I must go and have a nose at him....I also found a pic of one of the Tollard children in Qatar and Haroun in the desert from Deidre Hyde's visit. Floret just stayed under 13.2h and we had loads of fun with her over the years and at 29 she was dug in here at home. Its been good to get the old snaps out, brings back many good times...Sue |

Hi Sue, Nandina was sold to Mr. Al Badie from the dispersal sale in 1986. He also bought Nabiyah. Whilst at Water Farm Nandina foaled - 1989 gr.c Suhayl exported 1992UAE; 1990 gr.c Al Shawaf exported 1992UAE; 1992 ch.f Al Anoud; 1994 b.c Al Mirwah; 1997 gr.c Waseem; 1998 b.c Nasseem. All in the ownership of Mr. Al Badie. Her last foal seems to be 1999 ch/gr. g Wazim bred by Jane Van Lennep. Nandina died in 2003. Nazran was Nandina"s last Tollard born foal and he was purchased at the dispersal by Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw who, I"m sure, still owns him. Yes, Nazran had a very successful showing career with wins at the Arab Show and Internationally. A lovely big horse. |
