Has anyone else been reading her blog or bought her DVDs? I bought two of the DVDs but I am now gleaning from forums elsewhere that they only touch the surface and that the on-line course is much better.

I almost signed up for the summer on-line course but was feeling overwhelmed by other committments so didn't. I just emailed over there to see when the spring one is open for admission.

It's a really unique training method -- I don't know if you can call it a training method. It's more like a "being with your horse" method so that all training thereafter is easy. It has distinct features that are not obvious to outsider such as myself.

If anyone is further along in their investigations on the Waterhole Rituals, etc, I'd be interested in hearing!

I just ordered the book and I've already got a couple of DVDs. Very interesting lady.

Hi martha,

Just did the quick quiz and scored only one no. Iam interested in taking this 'Waterhole Ritual' further. How are you getting on and did you read her book?

What are the water holre rituals? Do you mean who drinks first in the herd.

This sounds like an interesting course, but I have no funds at all.

Blimey, might be expensive Quarabian, but still interested in what I could learn from her blogs/dvds.

Hi Martha,
I have only come across her on The Path of the Horse dvd, playing at liberty with her horse. Just checked out her website and it looks really interesting so thanks for that link-I'm going to spend some time perusing it.

What dvds of hers have you got?

I've got the Introduction to Waterhole Rituals and Pandero's Journey. I gave Pandero's journey to a friend, though. To be honest, you only need the first one (the intro) from what I can tell.

I ordered the the book from Abebooks.co.uk for something like £14 but it hasn't arrived yet.

The "insider's circle" thing really is expensive and you have to do filming (difficult as my filming slave has gone to uni!) but I feel this may be the "missing link" I need with Esme in particular, who is not a gregarious in-your-face horse like Millie, and does not trust humans.

Mind you, she is more confident with humans lately. She made like she was going to bite me today when I did her rug. This was a dominance thing as she was telling me I had no permission to do the neck fastenings. I was very amused. I paused, then asked her more politely if it was okay now and she said "Yes, it's fine. Don't let it happen again that you invade my very vulnerable neck region like that without permission!". LOL!

A few weeks ago she would have just high tailed it away if she didn't like what I was doing (because I am such a wally I rug without putting a halter on her, which I know isn't very clever!). She certainly would not have not "talked" to me about it. And she didn't bite out of fear. It was a pretend nip that didn't meet the skin. It's her saying, "Annoying!" and I am glad she felt she could tell me that instead of using her speed to escape.

If she's anything like Cinny, a feigned bite when you go to do up the neck = you are not doing it up in a way that she approves of, nothing more nothing less....

I agree, Susi!!!

I think what she is really saying is "Don't put a rug on me. Instead, make it summer again!"
