Still shocks me, bless her heart. Thanks to everyone that donated and helped towards her recovery...and to everyone involved in her daily care |

she's a fabulous old girl with a huge life spirit, and I am so pleased that she has found a home in which she is doing so well. I will continue to donate to this brilliant charity |

For a real oldie to put on that condition through the winter is incredible.
Looks like she may have to be carefully monitored over the summer if she carries on like this , Bless her. |

An update from today:
Paris gave me a fright as she was lay down when I got out to her with her feed and Larry's little bit to eat and fresh haynet. She was in the shelter of the big hedge that backs to the East and very warm so think just sleepy after a wild and watchful night last night. she was soon up and tucking into her tea so she's alright. I managed to sort her rugs out tonight too, we've become expert at making them comfortable without removing them but re-sitting her back pad was interesting! The wind has dropped a lot now so I've opened her barn back up and fastened the door again just incase it swings shut in the night and shuts her out - or worse! - in...she doesn't like being shut in at all.

I would just like to say here that the long winter has strained many charities who deal with horses, as they have been inside and needed more hay than usual. Not wishing to appear holier than thou here, but I have sent them a little something this month via just giving. That way, the tax man gives them an extra £5 for every £20 you give, providing you are tax payers. I know it is tight for us all, and we have to put our own horses first, so I am not criticising anyone who can't afford it... |

A status update from today:
The ponies are all daft because the wind is blowing and the sun finally came out and warmed things up, and everyone felt happy again, like magic :-) Almost two weeks since I rasped Paris and Larry so they were first to be done again in our rota, nice to get them done this afternoon though Paris is dippy when the wind blows, all flying petticoats and snorting!! Not much to come off their feet really, well there wouldn't be in such a short interval of trimming but those rasped and rolled few millimetres off make a heck of a difference to hoof and frog and sole quality. Little changes but each one a bonus and a comfortable horse/pony at the end of it. I finished her off with some NAF Hoof Moist as she has wall cracks from her past life to grow on out yet and the ground is now very dry along with the air, very drying for her hooves and my hands alike!
