Hi all. I am trying to find out more about a gelding I saw advertised. Apparently 6 years old, 14.3 with no registration docs being provided when he was sold, although they existed, allegedly, his name could be something like 'Silver Sonati or Sonata', stable name Sam. Apparently, he was originally bought from two men in Derby and he's now in Herts/London? Any ideas? He is on another site for sale.. but I don't want to get in trouble by posting more details here...Thanks.

The only Silver Sonata I can find is a bay mare (race winner) born in the USA in 1986... |

He is very nice, and reasonably priced if he is as good as he looks and as they say in ad.
Are you looking to buy him? If so are you worried about whether he is registered or not? It is not as though you would be looking to breed from him . Our bay gelding wasn't registered (old lady who bred him had lost her husband and didn't get round to it), although I do have his covering certificate, and I know from looking at him that the sire is as claimed. We've had him 17 years now, and it hasn't made any difference in comparison to the 7 registered horses we have had. Unles of course you want to take him showing above the local level. It is quite possible that he was never registered in the first place - after all it costs money to do so.

You are right, I'm just interested in his history really. I think he's been through dealers. I think you should come and see him with me! You can hold my wallet! |

I'd love to Anna, but I'm stuck on a boat in the middle of the North Sea until the 2nd of May, and I think you should go and see him asap!
Plus if he is anything like as nice as he looks I would just keep squeaking 'buy him, buy him!' at you and waving your wallet around... |

Go on - you know you want to!
Think of the things you can buy for him in the States (a lot of stuff is cheaper, including Ariat boots) and bring back in your suitcase...
I work offshore as a Hydrographic Surveyor - hence the boat! |

He does not show in datasource so may be unregistered? Do you have any details of his parents?

Lindsay, sorry I assumed 'data source' was like all breeds but it's not is it. What I mean is that if he were registered would he be on data source? Thanks. |
