As many of you will remember two Persian Cats in very poor condition were dumped at my stable yard on or around the 1st September this year.
Phoebe the chocolate tortiseshell was 2 weeks pregnant on arrival and she gave birth to 6 beautiful part-bred kittens, which we have thankfully found homes for when they are weaned.
Mia the chocolate bi colour was so small we assumed that she wasn't much more then a kitten.
Since their arrival they have been fed on Royal Canin Persian 32 and brushed daily and look so much better.
My intention is to keep them so I booked Mia into be spayed yesterday.
On arrival at the Vets I asked them to scan her for a chip & chip her if she wasn't already done. Well they did scan her and she was chipped.
She was registered to a family in Solihull West Midlands, who were contacted via the Petlog information. They said that 'they had found new homes for them!'.
I am DISGUSTED! If they had genuinely found a 'new home' for their Pets, wouldn't you ask after them? It pretty obvious to me that these were the people who dumped these beautiful cats. Surely, knowing their details the Authorities can do something about this - even if its just a caution.
It turns out that Mia is actually Poppy and she was born and chipped in 2007, so is infact 4 years old.
I shall have Phoebe spayed after her kittens have gone and she has put a little more weight on. No doubt the Vets will also find that she is chipped too and registered to the same family.
Sorry for the rant but I am so angry that people feel they can do this and get away with it. There is surely a law against dumping pets? Is there?

SOME PEOPLE, arghh had to delete what i wrote originally lost the plot a bit, upshot was I wish there was an agency who would ban forever, people keeping pets if they can't be arsed to look after them properly, appreciate some people have to re-home for genuine sad reasons,BUT how heartless are they |

Sadly there is no way to prove that they didn't rehome their cats as they would claim to "have lost the new owner's details". Maybe they will be reincarnated as cats and their owner will dump them to starve!
You have two lovely cats now to enjoy, so a happy ending.
