Pop that is really mild stuff compared with a lot of what goes on. The point of the video is the interviews with lots of lovely people like Chrissie Hynde, Martin Shaw, Joanna Lumley etc. |

Zan so glad you posted this (beat me to it) Great to see the celebs talk about animal welfare. Please everyone at least listen to this. Please don't turn away, it's happening! If you don't want to know then at the very least don't eat meat! If you're eating meat you should listen and watch this.

I know, I did try, it hurt so much I really was almost sick, and when I go to open it, same thing happens. It seems bad enough to me, I saw until the little chicken and the pigs teeth, not far but enough. It's impossible for me to watch, physically, apart from anything else. |

Well Pop, I hope you don't eat meat then, because this is in your name if you do. |

Yes,Pop,nothing really happening in this video apart from short bits of what happens everyday in intensive farming and slaughterhouses,no infringement of the law, just normal routine so that so many can have their omelette or steak on the plate.Like Zan says,if you eat meat, that's what happen to the animals whose meat you eat. The point of the video is really about the interviews, anyway. |

Does nobody remember how I nearly starved after the pig etc threads . I think maybe you thought it was me and my posting mischievous ways. The transition was so hard, I had no idea what to eat. I've even stopped killing slugs. After all the hard work which has gone into some of the most upsetting scraps on here about meat eating and abuse and stuff I'm amazed that anyone could think for one millisecond that I could even look at the flesh of a dead animal with the intent of eating it. There is no dead animal flesh in my house, except, sadly, that which is fed to the dogs.
See, it was worth it, I voted with my stomach.
And this is the untrue bit .... and now I am so frail and weak that those who converted me should come help me with the very heavy wheelbarrow
Anyway, seriously, I gave up. My brain will not let dead animal flesh pass thru my mouth.
ETA, and the sight of amimals being grown and prepared for the dinner table has what I have consumed coming in the opposite direction. Disgusting, but true.
Oh no, not in my name . (my ranting is over now [I think]) But I could be back |

And now I have recalled, to my shame, that 2 weeks ago I did eat meat, but it was free range and presented to me as a kindness, so I ate it. ?but? hmmmmm |

Yes Pasch, so did I. Its a confusing subject. The beak being cut off just made my stomach turn, and I did want to hear what the people said, particularly Joanna Lumley. Alas, I am a wimp. And I get angry actually, who, just who, seriously just ******* who could cut a beck off. Imagine the clippers in your hand, just who can do those things Who?
(As you were, steady now, just another Pop rant) |

Pop, I am disappointed you have emphasized the negative aspects of this video, which will put others off watching it. There are only very short illustrative clips of factory farming, and the majority of the video is interviews with much loved celebrities, talking about being veggie/vegan, which I think many people will find interesting. To anyone who eats meat or items containing animal products from the supermarket--if you can't even bear to watch something as mild as this video--and believe me, it is mild-- you have no right to consume the end products.

I still have omelettes , free range rescued and living the life of luxury seriously pop I thought it would be hard giving up after all this time , but its not its easy , and it gets easier with time. I dont think I would be a complete vegan , but no animal has passed through my lips since I made the decision. |

I do think Pop expressed her disgust at some of the farming methods not thinking or realising that it would put people off watching it. Now you've explained that it is mild and is mainly about the interviews Zan I'm sure everyone will watch it now.
