I've currently got my boy in a nathe mouthpiece bit which he is going great in. The problem is the bit is borrowed and needs to go back soon - are they similiar to a happy mouth? Or anyone know where I can get a nathe bit from?

Nathe and Sprenger Duos are much bendier than Happy Mouth and the equivalent versions. There are a few retailers sell them online. Lovely bits so I'd invest in a Nathe of your own. |

Bizarre to see this thread, as never heard of these Nathe bits until this afternoon. Cinny and I had our first riding lesson in ages. Riding instructor is recommending I change to one from the bit I have been using, which is not as comfort as I thought it was.... |

im sure your horse will love it, they are similar to a rubber bendy dog toy with i believe a steel wire through the centre for strength, be oh so flexible, mine has large loose rings on it and with such small arab mouths they are fabulous, and u still have brakes too,, my girl hates metal bits and ones with joints so i was looking for a straight bar bit and found one of these and we have never looked back,,and she is still so light on the bit, deb |

Dennis goes lovely in a Nathe and absolutely hates a Happy Mouth. I would suggest that you get a decent Nathe, for example the Sprenger one as I have heard of a horse chewing through a cheap one. |

Yes Vera that happened to me with a young mare(not mine)I was riding,I was cantering in the school when suddenly she panicked,I felt something was wrong as I felt no control as she was heading full speed in the direction of the gate, which led to the concrete floor and the stables,I don't know how I managed to make her turn and eventually fell.Poor thing was trembling with fear, the bit had broken in her mouth and the metal wire in it had snapped thus hurting her with its sharp edges. The bit was old and it had been chewed so I guess you better get a good one and change it if it gets chewed up |

ordered a nathe snaffle bit today.
I normally show the horses in a pelham, so hope by next year he can progress into a rubber mouthpiece pelham as the nathe mouthpiece pelhams are £135!!!!! Boy has my new man got expensive taste!!!! |
