I hope she goes to a good arab home. I hate seeing horses given away free, it encourages all sorts of low life, she is a gorgeous mare, top show winner. Poor girl. At least if she had been advertised on here she would more than likely found an arab friendly home

I remember going to see this mare a few years ago when the Cricks had her for sale, Lovely mare and beautiful breeding but she had a bit of a patchy breeding record so sadly I didn't buy her. I think Ryan Jones had her for a while after that. Poor girl being moved on again at that age.

It is very sad i hope they find a good home, my mare is 20 this year and going better than ever. In the right hands these mares could have a good few years left and enjoy them!

Well, it's up to the owner to sort out the LOW LIFE from the genuine, surely?...sometimes people are in a desparate place and end up having to give their horses away because they can no longer afford to keep them in a proper manner and there are good people out there who cannot afford the large cash sum needed to buy a horse but can afford the cost of keeping a horse week to week....
Let's hope the mare does get advertised on here (which site is she on? PM me someone please), in case an A-Liner can help.

Here here Suyents, i must say my hackles went up a little when i read the `Low Life` comment. IMO it is a little harsh Tzarina.
It doesnt matter what sort of `walk of life` we come from to how much we love and care for our animals, class doesnt come into it.
You can get upper class b******s and lower of course.
Im not trying to cause a debate here by the way! Just said with no offence or malice intended

Well,I'm sorry that you both feel that way, but I'm going to stick with my comment, I have seen quite a lot of horses in various yards offered 'free' to good homes and I have seen the people who have turned up to see them. People can really turn on the charm and blind anyone if they want something strongly enough, and you then hear the disastrous stories afterwards. You only have to look at all the loan homes on here that have gone wrong when people were absolutely convinced that the lessee was 110% genuine, and low life can apply to the ones with oodles of money just as much, I didnt imply that people would come from a certain standard of life, so all I can see is that you have judged my comment wrong.

All I hope is that Nebraska gets a lifelong home, she deserves it.

It's a slippery slope when something is free - here's is hoping that someone genuine will give her a home for the rest of her days. I'd love to have grace the fields here but with 4 of veteran age you have to be sensible.
In defense of Tina's comment....we just know who'll be lurking that's all !!! Charm & slime personified !!

Tzarina maybe i did take your comment as it was not intended, and like i said no offence or malice intended in what i put back..but if it did i apologise.
And like you say we all want Nebraska to find a loving forever home...

just because horses are given away does not mean they will end up in bad homes if she has a patchy breeding history then she would be ideal as a companion to others maybe youngsters etc but it is up to the owners to make sure anyone who is interested will give her a good few years in retirement

not wanting to distract from this but if a certain person had started to cut down there stock sometime ago either reduce prices or find good homes they would not be in the situation they are now : (

I have to hold my hands up & admit we gave a mare away FTGH (not an arab), but we had been put in an awkward position, we had had her on loan & the owners refused to take her back & asked us to call the hunt to have her PTS. We advertised the mare out of desperation, i was inundated with calls, but i held out for someone who was suitable, we didn't let her go to the first person who rang, in fact in the end she went to a friend of mine who offered to take her.I have to admit though its amazing the number of idiots that did call about her!

I don't like seeing ads for "free" horses. I think it's better for the owners to advertise them as loans and then suss out the people who come to look at them before offering them for free.

I agree that at 20 they still might have plenty to offer. My mare is 21 and showing no signs of slowing down just yet. We hack, showjump and do XC, and she is very fast against the clock...even though she's getting a few grey hairs!

Even asking a fair price for horses doesn't insure a good home Tzarina. People can be very decieptful, they can spin you a tail about how knowledgeable and caring they are and how often they visit their stables etc. There is a story behind this but I won't bore you with the details. Offering for free may be the only way to find a home for a 20 year old in the current financial climate.

Yes absolutely !! Just trying to make the point that she isn't 'that' old. Ffatal is 21 this year and would put most younger horses to shame. Vive la Veteran !! She's there to be enjoyed and for some TLC she'll give you so much more :))

Hear Hear Goldenmane...

I can understand why some people end up with a large number of horses. I wish I could take all these unwanted/home needed Arabians.

My dream of opening an Arabian Santuary/Rehabilitation Centre made me go off and check the lottery. I won a tenner! Sadly not enough to open my dream 'Arabians Again' rescue and rehabilitation centre (sorry hadn't thought of a name for such a place, honestly, that one just popped out as I was writing ... maybe one day...

Goldenmane - there is no guarantee of continued good health if you take on a two year old.

Quarabian, I understand what your getting at, but just using the word encourages people who wouldnt even normally bother. You dont have to tell me about deceipt and spinning tales about their knowledge and caring. I think even a nominal price would have better.

Just to set the record straight. Regarding(Nebraska).
I feel its such a shame to keep this beaitful mare doing nothing, when she just loves to show. We have 6 vetrans some we have had for 17 to 20yrs. We will be vetting the home, for Nebraska.
But what i would like to know is where SASHA, has seen youngstock mare,s and stallion,s of mine for sale.
I only have 2 colts for sale 1 being my son,s. My wife does all our horses herself, and is worn out. So we feel we must try and cut down. We take pride in keeping our horses in very good condition and we love them. I take offence, to people who think they know every bodys buissness. We are not the only people in the arab world that have horses for sale. So keep your nose out of my buissnes.
