Xsara went to a sj training show tonight. I entered into the 70cm and then into her first 80cm class. She flew round the 70cm all be it a little green but jumped double clear. I was chuffed her first ever clear 70cm and then we were first to jump in the 80cm. I didn't even give her a pop in between just let her walk the course and she flew round the 80cms even better than she did in the 70cm. Unfortunately she did knock one pole down in the first round as she over jumped a big spread and nearly stopped after it she put so much effort in. We then jumped the next at trot as I didn't want to be pushing her and she just knocked it in front. We did get it the next time round even though again she over jumped the one before but I pushed her a little to pick up the canter and she jumped it with a flyer the next time. So looking forward to doing some more classes with her and my plans to get her registered next year are currently looking good. It is so nice to be finally jumping bigger than 60cm and 70cm. It has taken Xsara a year to get her confidence up but I have taken my time not rushed her anD let her tell me when she was strong enough and ready and I know if i entered her into a 90cm 0r 1m class she would happily jump round and would adjust her self as she went along my aim for the end of the year to be jumping round 90cms and maybe starting 1m. I am so proud of her
Well done both of you and extra special well dones for going evening show jumping in January - I can only just muster the enthusiasm to get out of bed at this time of the year
