I guess lots of you are suffering from mud at field gateways, in front of field shelters and, in our case, feed store. Last year Mittens and I used wood chippings which kept things manageable through the winter. A short while ago someone from near King's Lynn posted that they used chalk as it allowed water to drain, but was still firm underfoot. Regret I can't remember who posted it or under what heading I might find it again.
