Don't know how you get back to the archieve - but googled this & it brought me back to this AL site ...!
African Echo - 1991 grey - bred by Mrs P G Westwood Progeny - SHAIKH AL KURECHO AHSB*27059 1995 Stallion Grey SHAIKH AL KURAN BASHIR BINT ECHO AHSB*30458 2000 Mare Chestnut ELDYR It lists African Echo as deceased but the US registry is sometimes wrong. African Jade - 1992 chestnut - bred by Mr & Mrs R W Westwood Progeny - PHS DAFIINAH ALARABI AHSB*30459 2001 Mare Bay SO-BLACK ALARABI African Eclipse - 1993 - Chestnut also listed as being bred by Mrs P G Westwood. I'm afraid I can't tell you where they are. There are loads of other mares listed not out of Sky Echo

Carol, I believe it probably started with African Gold's grand-dam, African Queen by Oran x Incoronetta bred by Mrs E Murray in 1965. However, the majority with "African" as a prefix were sired by African Gold and bred by Mrs P. Westwood. |

Pat Westwood bought African Gold from Jeanette Munday, who bred him but I can confirm Pat used the 'African Prefix' the most.
I had two 'African' boys, African Bandolier & African Shah.
African Emir, is still standing at Stud in North Wales with his owner Lynne Barrett. |

African Jade and African Shu Shu were owned by Natalie and Sonia Whittington Davis of the Polmaily Stud, Drumnadrochit, they also owned So Black Alarabi until his death. I used to have a photo of my friend riding African Jade when we were visiting my mare on loan to them, but not sure I still have it. If I can find it will email a copy to you. |
