By my reckoning Arabella she is 88.085935% Crabbet. Any pics of mum and baby? I am thinking of African Emir for one of mine. Used to love African Gold and he was a very good performance horse

I would love to be able to work out the percentage of crabbet in arabs. It confuses the hell out of me. LOL.
I think mine is about 50% of so, mind you that is a guess, one of his half sisters (different Dam) is about 54%?

African Emir is gorgeous, but as Arabella says use him before too long as he isn't as young as he used to be. If memory serves he's 99% Crabbet & defiantely a lovely dark BAY. He's done everything from endurance (superb hill horse) to (& still) jumping. Very versatile & a lovely mover. Photo on allbreeds doesnt do him justice, he really is stunning. |

Good way is to post his pedigree on here & someone will give you a rough %. for an acurate one contact The Crabbet Organisation (google it & you'll find their website) |

Yes I have, have just moved house and still not fully unpacked, so have sorted this out for you.
and African Emir as a weanling
I'm sorry about the quality but they were taken 20 years ago lol I used to work there back then, I remember Emirs owner Lynn, she had another of Lockies (African Gold) colts but he died in an accident, a very striking chestnut who we African Fire IIRC.
I often wonder how Pat Westwood is, I know Lockie died, and she sold most the horses I think, African Gold was her treasure. I believe So Black Al Arabi is no longer around either? She had some damn nice horses, I didn't think I would but 20 years on I treasure the time I spent there. |

I'm using Emir next year, he truly is stunning. He's about 99.8% crabbet. will take a look at your mare and get back to you later with a rough %. |

My horses have some Crabbet breeding but I'm interested to know how much. Could anyone help please? I have CRYSTAL MAGIC by SILVERN SCEPTRE x CRYSTAL LAZULI, NAHEMA by HEJAZ x NIMARA, S A ETERNAL SPIRIT by CRYSTAL MAGIC x NAHEMA, S A ROSSIAHS SPIRIT by CRYSTAL MAGIC x ROSSIAH & my new purchase MUZICARLA by PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN x MUZETTA. I also have 2 predominately Polish mares but they both carry a small amount of Crabbet. They are KASARA BINT KAMONO by WERMUT x KAMONO & KHANTARRA by LIMEKILN KARUSO x KASARA BINT KAMONO. I know this is a rather large list but I am into breeding high percentage Crabbet horses so would like to know what I have. |

Many thanks. I know Crystal Magic's very high percentage but never bothered to find out exactly how much. I wanted to enter S A Eternal Spirit in Crabbet classes so would like to know if he's eligible. |

Alan, I have just had a quick look at SA Eternal Spirit for you. His sire Crystal Magic is 96.96% Crabbet and Nahema I think is approx 39.65%, which makes SA Eternal Spirit approx 68.30% Crabbet. So not quite eligible for Crabbet classes if I am correct

Thank you Annette. Shame about S A Eternal Spirit but at least I know what %age mare I would need to give me a min 75%. If you have time would you be kind enough to look into my others please as I find this very interesting. |

Kezziecrj5, I have fixed Koonic's pedigree now so that his sire's pedigree is displayed. The problem lay in the fact that Roulette did not have RD after his name, so the correct pedigree could not be displayed. While I was doing it, couldn't resist working out his crabbet %age. Koonic is approx 71.32% crabbet getting 46.76% through Fantasy in Bronze who is 93.52% and 24.56 through Roulette RD who is 49.12%

Hi Alan. Have just been busy working out your other horses and think I have got them all. The percentages are not totally accurate but should (hopefully!)be near enough.
Rossiah: 27.81 which she gets through her dam Khanu
Muzicarla: 37.27
Kasara bint Kamono: 10%
Khantarra: 31.22
Hope this helps
