yes that money was raised £90 toward diesel so that has now been deducted from diesel costs, apparently yes i can still have her i haven't time to get there and back now before collecting my daughter so i'll have to see if an emergrency transporter can be arranged (maybe they'll take my car in payment) |

When I worked for HAPPA paying for a rescued horse was a definate no as they beleived it encouraged people to offer horses in poor condition. I would like to see what the rescue site policy is on this issue. When they became involved (unless they were as I first thought, collecting this mare on behalf of bigmac) they should have seized the horse with no compensation to the owner. After all, the owner is still likely to be prosecuted for not having a passport so they would have done her a favour.
I am sorry that after all your efforts you have fallen foul of 'the rules' of the rescue charity. |

bigmac is this person from the rescue a friend of yours im sure thats what you said in the beginning or do you just know her from this site ???
i went on there a few days ago and i did point out this rescue has only had there forum going for a few months there was also a few things that i was reading on there that made me very uncomfortable for them to be a rescue one of them is encouraging people to go to saless and buy horses then hand them to rescue ??? there are other things that i did not like that i read its the way things are done on there i also asked you did you have any idea how long this rescue had been operating ??
and i think the way things have happened is totally wrong and get YOUR horse back no matter what it is not theres as far as we were concerned they were helping you with transport thats all
oh and someone mentioned £24 they have a membership of £24 which helps them buy horses from sales i think i read that correct ? |

Good luck again bigmac on getting YOUR mare today xxx Everything is crossed, they sound right dodgy and hope that someone can collect her for you without any further implications! |

Good luck bigmac, hope you get your mare home today, this has all been very confusing, but the 'rescue' appears to be at best badly managed, or at worst somewhat questionable. I find it extremely strange that they allowed you to get involved with them without making their 'rules' clear, I planned to make a donation on the mare's behalf, but I am glad I didn't, and I would rather send you a cheque to help with your costs. One of the reasons I didn't was that I seemed to have to register to get on the web site, which I found somewhat offputting. Sincerely hope that you have managed to sort this out. |

Apparantly Bigmac is on her way to collect the mare, under contract. She has sorted things with the other site.
Hopefully she will come back on here and update us herself.... |

Smiler, I think you ought to make it clear that you are quoting the other site and that they are not your words |

They must be in essex somewhere as they are recommending local transporters and having 'essexgirl' as such, didnt recognise the settings from pics tho, cant see a registered charity no. anywhere either so what would happen if you couldnt be bothered to keep renewing yearly 'membership' with them if you paid for the horse and travel e.t.c, had had it for a year or more and were clearly going to keep it having fed/treated/cared for it... do they then come to reclaim? The site (not this one!) is a shambles and I am praying poor bigmac gets her mare, goes to show how the Aliners can club together and help each other out without having to resort to sites like that to rescue one of our beloved breed. Edited for spelling |

After doing alot of google digging I have found ads that Free2Run have placed and so far have come up with Norfolk, Birmingham and Derbyshire as places that the ads are listed under. I'd love to know if this is a registered charity as there is nothing on the website as to charity number or who runs it! |
