Mine range from 137cm (my filly who was 1 on Friday so we measured her!) through 14 hands, 14.2 and 15 hands, all pure breds. I would think for your size your horse is ideal but if you wanted an Arab had you thought of a part bred, I have seen lovely Welsh Cob/Arab and also Hanoverian and Trakhener/Arab crosses if you wanted something taller? |

I seem to keep my purebreds in grow bags, have two 18 month olds, filly is nearly 15.2, colt 15.1hh!! The rest range from 14.2 to 15.2. Hakka (my senior stallion) varies in height from 14.3 to 17.1, depending on his mood. |

Arabs "ride big" so something of 15 hands would be fine for you. Initially it may feel a bit small but once you get used to the size it will be fine. Also Arabs are usually good doers so less feed, less poo, easier to get on and off; the list of pluses is endless. My Arabs range from 14 2" to just under 16 hands and all wonderful people!

my part bred 4yr is 15h3 and my half bred two year old is 15h and is a good solid type so a part bred might be the way to go. |

Lily is 15.2hh, although I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to find that she has grown a little taller over the winter(she's not 5 until June). However I think you should go for whatever horse you fall in love with, whether it be arab, partbred or something completely different. It's just that I have been under the spell of arabs since I was a child, and it seems to be incurable. I have had and loved non arabs, but given the opportunity to buy exactly what I wanted I knew this one had to be an arab. I thought I wanted a chestnut or bay gelding, but it turned out I fell in love with a grey mare! |

My two (one part-bred, one pure-bred arab) are both around the 14.3 mark. Both are sturdy, well-built lasses and strong as oxes. |

May old lady is 14.3hh and my boy is 15hh. They both give a super ride bigger than their size. As for weight I have to admit I was 14st briefly and she was fine but 10st plus my saddle is where I am now. |

Our youngster is at just turning 3ys standing at 15.3+ He is a pure bred, bred by Jane Fraser Brown, Have to say he has plenty of bone, very deep girth and is so easy and well behaved a real gem.. Our other mare stands at just 14.2 |

Pasha is full-up 15.2hh (no withers) and rides about 17hh when he's excited lol!
Shesky is 16hh, but has proper withers and doesn't feel big at all, but then I had been used to riding 16.2hh + horses when I got him so think it must be that - everyone comments on how huuge he is, but to me he is a little cuddly pony x |

K is 15.1 but her baby (also by Crimbo) is enormous! I hate to think what he will end up as given that he is only 9 months old and 3/4 of her size when I last saw him 3 weeks ago. Reckon he'll end up about 18hh judging by the growing that's going on at the moment .

I have a 4 year old who bearly nudges 14.1, a 15 year old who is about 15.1, and a 2 year old who is about 14.3 (all purebreds). I also have a welsh section a who is only about 11hh, but actually a lot bigger than the lot of them (in her head and probably thiers too lol!). I get a bit intimidated by anything over about 15,1 these days! Ros
