i haven't been on here posting for quite a while now due to a number of reasons, ill health and a messy divorce being alot to do with it. for anyone who has been in touch with me and i haven't responded i sincerely appologise but for once in my life i have thought about just me and my son.
to top it all off i now have to report the totally devasting news that my beloved stallion odin had to be pts on thursday. he was rising 19 this year and my horse-of-a-lifetime. he was not everyone's idea of a show arab but for me he was a true all rounder and gentleman. always the exhibitionist, and always the perfect gentleman. a huge heart trapped in a small horse. never unplaced in the ridden ring and manners always to burn. he turned his hoof to anything from teaching children to ride to proving all the 'arabs can't jump' people so wrong.
my words are just simply not enough to explain how much i love this horse and how deeply i am missing him. the hole he has left in my life is unfillable and tearing my heart apart.
he had had trouble with his feet some years ago and the treatment meant that i could never ride him again. but he was happy and enjoyed pottering about. however, the problem reoccured and there was nothing i could do because the treatment would have killed him anyway.
thursday morning was beautifully clear and crisp. odin looked a picture and came out being on a good day on his toes. one final performance for the man he didn't know who was to send him to his lost mares and son.
my beautiful man i'm heartbroken, i miss you but i am so honoured to have had you in my life.

I know how much you adored that horse, Suzanne, and how much he adored you - he was a real credit to you. Such a beautiful boy and a proper arab to boot.

Dear Suzanne,
What a sad but beautiful tribute to your horse of a lifetime. Your words convey how much he meant to you and he sounds like he was a very blessed horse to have shared his life with you.
Sorry to hear that you have had such a dreadful time. Look after yourself and your boy.
Kindest thoughts, Sandra x |

So sorry to read this Suzanne. I know how much you thought of him, and having his sire (and sisters), I understand why - special, special horses, and what a little star your boy was.
Take care of yourself, Sam x |

Very very sorry to hear your sad news. I had to put my beautiful mare to sleep recently, and I can promise you that the good memories and the love you felt for him, and the joy and privilege of owning him, will ease the pain eventually. Take care of yourself xx |

I am so sorry about your loss, you obviously loved him to pieces.
Its so hard when we lose them but time is a great healer, I thought my broken heart would never mend after my beloved mare was PTS, I felt I had lost my best friend in the whole wide world, i still miss her now after 2 years and I remember the good times we had together. She will always have a place in my heart and I know I did the right thing in ending her pain.
take care.

So very very sad to hear of the loss of your beloved best friend. You were there for him as he bowed out with dignity. When the tears of grief subside.....the wonderful memories Odin, has left behind for you to cherish will once again see your smile return, as you picture him prancing and dancing in your mind`s eye
Gallop freely across the lush green pastures on the other side of Rainbow Bridge beloved Odin....you will never be forgotten by all those who knew and loved you
Sincere condolences, take care and look after yourself and your Son.
