This is not really a new subject but I could not find my original search subject. I have a Banat daughter and two Banat grandaughters. does anyone know where I can find the discussion group with other Banat fans/owners?

Have you tried a search on AL using the Archived posts? There are quite a few there. |

My stallion BANSHADA (in the b&W sig pic below) was a grandson of Banat through Syn Banata. I also owned 2 lovely flea bitten grey mares for a time who were both Banat daughters. Lady Natasha and Tabashir (dam of Lyndham Tarac) |

I have a Banat grandson, a Banat grandaughter, and a Banat great grandaughter and great grandson .
Claverdon stud had a son of his, Deepak - I don't know if he is still going I think he would be about 30 now !
Also, I used to have a mare on loan related to both Tabashir and Lyndham Tarac - her name was Tamisha, but I can't remember exactly how she was bred, one of you may know ! |

I used to own a Banat grandson, Nemesiah. He was by Lotny. I bred a gelding by Nemesiah out of my Crabbet mare. Nemshozar is doing really well at endurance & also does a few in-hand shows, & jumping.A real all-rounder. I'll see if I can persuade his owner to post some photos on here! Lisa |

Nemesiah, I believe, was bequeathed to one of the equine welfare farms . Chris Kyte ,who owned him, knew she was ill and made arrangements for all her horses , before she died. I am not sure but I think it was the ILPH. I have a mare which had a colt/gelding by him about 4/5 yrs ago. Nemesiah stood over in Yorkshire for a while.

I used the Banat son Sky Bandolier about 17 years ago( out of Valentines Surprise) when he stood at the Harewood stud, I got a colt from him who I sold to a man who later went on to geld him. I have since lost touch with that man, but would love to know what happened to the gelding ( I have forgotten his name ) no surprise there then |

vanbro - you are correct about Nemesiah. I was the lady who owned him in Yorkshire & sold him to Christine Kyte where he had a fabulous life with her. After she sadly lost her life to cancer, I was offered him back but sadly at the time had a colt & I don't have the facilities to keep 2 entires. I knew of Christines wishes that if I couldn't take him he would go to the ILPH. He originally went to the centre at Blackpool & is now at the Scotland centre.Sadly, he was gelded at 19 years old but at least I know that he is at a place for life where he is well cared for & not being passed from pillar to post via horse sales etc. What I find hard is that the colt that I had at the time, broke his leg last year & we had him pts so I could've had room for an entire? |

Has anyone tried to contact the Sisters Lindsay who stood Banat at their Stockings Farm in Northants? They have now moved down here to Devon and are situated in Hatherleigh. Patricia Lindsay is quite the guru on Polish Arabs, I believe.
See AHS Website - I hope it is OK to copy this edited info !?
Patricia Lindsay, Arab Horse Society Governor
"I Joined the AHS. in 1950, when starting a small Pure bred Stud in Northamptonshire; now in Devon.
As well as showing in hand and under saddle, the horses have always been used for hacking, hunting, long distance and many Ridding Club activities. The stallions are available to all types of mares; their progeny have been successful in many spheres.
Looking for an outcross I imported the first Polish horses to this Country from 1959; in the teeth of some pretty fierce opposition!
We gradually got them accepted - imported mares like KARRAMBA and NAWARA & stallions such as BANAT helped their cause. Present occupants include International Champion EDEON
I have a collect of archive photos & books concerning Polish Arabians, which I am happy to share.
I served on Council for over 40 years and was President in 1975 when the President chaired all the committees! Particularly interested in Stud Book matters and still serve on this committee.
Patricia Lindsay"
I hope this helps ?
