The lady renting our yard in the UK would like a rental/lease agreement for the yard. Does anyone have one of these in place? Also do you have to pay in advance?

The place I just left had a rental/Lease sort of thing, sorry I havent got a copy of it. But it had on things like payment on X date for x amount, stables and fields maintained by leaseholders, fencing done by the landlord that kind of thing.
payment was one month in advance if that is of any use to you.
Also I think it said something like the lease was for 3 years at x amount and would be revised on the next lease.
janet
ps. I havent done *X* so that nobody knows the amount and the date, I dont know what amount they were paying I was only told one figure to which I have found out to be wrong later on. |

Hi. we rent a yard from the owner, who lives there. There isn't anything written down, we pay 4 weekly or thereabouts, in advance but it's quite fluid; we do all the work needed although wouldn't do anything structural (to the barn, for example). It's nice and informal but we do have the issue that he could change his mind at any time, and change the rent - although it's only gone up twice in 8 years! I think a written agreement would probably be better, however, especially if the owner is in a different location. |
