Monique, Tamila is the first one in my signature with Ramak Gold at foo, Ramak is the second picture and Rimarli is in the third. My computer is playing up at present so cannot post one of Roxaana. There is one of her with her half-sister on another post I think it was called Sisters. She is actually almost the spitting image of Rissla even down to the leg markings. |

Hi, my partbred mare Mishkov www.allbreedpedigree.com/mishkov had Nuhra in her pedigree, Pic attached. LT, Szareen is lovely, I love her sire Zalim, Mishkov's half brother Golden Zenith is also by Zalim, I'm attaching a pic of him, he's now 21.

Hi in response I would love to breed from Szareen at some point the people who bred her have a nice stallion Hussain by Crusader that they have been using on her mother and producing nice types from.
On a different note I see Lila is related to my old mare Aywah (who unfortunately died a couple of years ago aged 24) through Mehriz who was her sire. She was a typical Crabbet. I attach a picture of her in her last summer.

Wow looks as though alot of Nuhra's descendents are chestnut with flaxen mane and tails! I see lots of beautiful horses that look like Miska.
Miska's parents are liver chestnut and bay, so I wonder if her chestnut colour comes from Nuhra's line |

Lovely all these Nuhra Arabs, and all so much like Lila. Lorna what a lovely good looking girl your old lady was, and indeed also a lot like Lila. I do not know were the flaxen/chestnut comes from, while Nuhra was a bay!!! Alliya looks just like Lila when she was in foal, also very compact!!! Our Lightning has red mane, but darker then his chestnut colour, he has the colour of his sire Coriolan. Monique |

Wow the response is overwhelming. And all such nice looking ones. The grey colour comes from Harasz, but I wonder about the flaxen/chestnut. Nuhra was a bay, but she was mainly bred to chestnuts although I saw one of the descendants was a chestnut out of Nuhra and the sire was bay as well.
@Claire, I did not know you have Nuhra Arabs??
@Emma, Crystal is very nice and she has Latawica in her, I just love that mare, if only I could breed one like Latawica she was gorgeous. Monique |

Hi Moira, Did a quick scan and I think you might be right. Would love to see pictures of Nuhra's children to see what colour chestnut they were. Monique |

Hi Monique We purchased mares directly from Nuhras home Barton Lodge from George White just after the death of Lady May - We stay in touch with George and just as Lady May have NOT introduced another outside line on the female side. Shimsha (Shimnar/Sayada) and Karera (Mehzeer/Zareen) both bred by Nuhras owner. We have back bred to the Barton Lodge bred stallion - Zalim (Bayazar/Zareen) and one of the results was Lornas lovely mare Guisburn Szareen. She also has a full sister competing at 80km endurance level and who has raced. Our lovely stallion Hussain (Crusader/Heloua) also carries a line to Nuhra through Maleik El Kheil, and is producing truly beautiful stock with these ladies. We have retained a young colt by Zalim - who is now 4 years old Guisburn Zhalim (Zalim/Guisburn Shazehra) with 8 crosses to Nuhra, but his dam is by Crusader.
We are hoping for foals in 2009 from Shimsha, Karera, Guisburn Shazehra, possibly Guisburn Shameerah (Mehzeer/Shimsha) - all will be tail female Nuhra.

What a fascinating horse - definite Zibak look but oh so very Mehzeer/Nuhra too. Really lovely breeding. Now if he were a mare, I might have to abduct him! |

Aletha, Thank you for the info as to where the colour comes from.
I remember visiting Barton Lodge many years ago numerous times and seeing Darjeel. He was magnificent. George White was such a fount of knowledge. I learnt so much from him which has stood me in good stead. |

My old mare is a Nuhra descentant.
By Autumn Firefly out of Harissa - born 1988 Very dark liver chestnut - only offspring of the above to be, all the others were bay! High whites with the sabino gene - lots of lovely spots all over her. Her full siblings were Autumn Legacy and a stallion I don't think was ever registered as he was called B'stard! |

Hello Monique We were unfortunate enough for Karera to absorb her next foal to Zalim after we sold Guisburn Kahara. She went in foal to Hussain (Crusader/Heloua) but absorb after 39 days. On a happier note she has been checked over by Jonathan Pycock of Equine reproduction services, who pronounced her in perfect health and she has been scanned in foal this year once again to Hussain, and has been put on regumate - if she holds it is our intention to cover her with an English stallion to retain her line so will be shopping if everything goes well!
The photos - The head shot with the blue halter is Shimsha (Shimnar - Samhan/Atrisha) x (Sayada - El Shaklan/Razehra) shortly after she arrived as a 2 year old from Barton Lodge, the second head shot was taken earlier this year as a 16 year old mare - the two endurance horses are her daughters by Zalim at the back and by Mehzeer at the front. The grey head shot is her 2007 filly Guisburn Silver Lining by Hussain. The dark foal is Guisburn Reyhana her 2008 granddaughter out of Guisburn Shazehra (Crusader/Shimsha)by Hussain. Guisburn Easter Shadow 2008 colt foal out of Shimsha by Hussain.
George White explained that Irex was used a number of times on the Nuhra line to improve her head, which was a little on the plain side and can pop up with multiple crosses back into the line. One of his favourite horses was the Crabbet stallion 'Grand Royal' and he has a framed picture of him on his wall - he spoke well of the Courthouse stallion Bahram. I understand from an email we had recently that the old Courthouse stallion Ramoth is still alive and well in France.
We would be pleased to see you at Guisburn!
