Hi Rowena,
What a lovely lady you have in Zaehaebi, sire line: Mesaoud and she is of the Kuhailan Rodania strain...so she is fecund (wouldn't you know getting in foal at 20!), should be very pretty, smart, can go forever...and nearly straight Crabbet. You might want to smooth her out a tad and that is certainly what Marcus Aurelius should be able to do...He is sire line to Mahruss so you have a very very high intelligent quotient with this chap which he should send on along with a quietness of disposition that so frequently travels with the Kuhailan Dajania dam line. What color is Marcus Aurelius? The grays tend to be a prettier with this combination but with trebled Irex on both sides of the pedigree, you could get quite a bit of pretty coming through if not downright gorgeous. Certainly very smooth lines courtesy of Dajania. And Ben Rabba was one of the most beautiful chestnuts I've ever seen anywhere-he had that quiet-nothing can upset him attitude. With this combination of bloodlines you should have a superb and lovely riding horse.
Linda, will catch up with you tomorrow! |

Hi Egbert Thanks so much for your comments! Marcus is chestnut and is very similar to his father Aurelian. I am told that Aurelian was very like his father Ben Rabba but I have only seen photos of Ben Rabba. I have tried to attach a photo but have not been bright enough to work it out as yet! Holly (Bint Zaehaebi)is a wonderful mare. She was rescued by a friend of mine at 18 months after a rough start and came to me at the age of 3. She has never accepted natural covering - panics at the last minute - and had to have an ovary removed at about 8 years old due to a tumour. I bit the financial bullet and used AI to Vert Olive when she was 17 and she caught 1st time giving me a lovely "mini-me" filly who has been bagged by one of my daughters as her first proper grown up horse... A friend of mine has her yearling Chatanz colt in safe keeping! It was a gamble having semen collected from Marcus with the express purpose of trying from her this year so you can imagine how grateful I am to her just now! This one is mine - pink or blue! Hi Egbert, I posted back on page 65 about my girls & keep meaning to post pics for you, so here we go, the first is of Spirits Desire, who is 2 years old (my husband took the photo a few weeks ago) & the second is of Dominita now 7 (photo taken a few years ago). Desire is just as you described her & getting better with age. I am hoping to put Desire in foal next year to a stallion who is Skowronek male line & Rodania (via Rangha (Rosemary)) dam line. For Dominita I am hoping to use Desire's sire www.allbreedpedigree.com/spirit+of+silver. If you get 5 minutes could you tell me what do you think of these combinations? Your comments are very much appreciated. Thanks.

I know you are very much in demand but if you get a chance I would really love to know what you think of our two other stallions - I do understand if you are to busy! http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/madryn+tsuleemhttp://www.allbreedpedigree.com/qamar+el+dineThank you again Linda
Hi Linda,
Things have been a bit unexpectedly topsy turvey but am back to do your two boys and more tomorrow-with fingers crossed.
Madryn Tsuleem is of my own bloodlines as his sire is *Rushan's full brother. So would expect that you have a gentleman there that is pure perfection interms of balance, overall conformation, lovely head and honest character. He can be a bit aloof but always enthusiastic to go out and see the world. Am sure you are well aware of the sire's side of the pedigree - absolutely filled to the brim with outstanding competitors in both halter and performance. But what is fascinating is the dam's side of the pedigree. Ivanhoe Tsultan, an old English x Polish stallion, was a winner in halter and performance-western pleasure and descended in dam line to Queen of Sheba via the Wrigley's (gum and Catalina Island fame)mare, Kholey-a multiple winner in halter and performance herself. The dam's bottom line is predominately Polish to the great Nabor as well as the Crabbet bred *Raffles with tail female tracing to Rodania. So your stallion is pure in the strain Kuhailan Ajuz of the Ibn Rodan!
Your stallion Qamar El Dine is straight Egyptian with sire line to Nazeer via the most beautiful of the Nazeer sons-Ansata Ibn Halima who very kindly seemed to pass that beauty to his offspring and their get. Qamar's sire's dam line traced to Mouna and on to the Seglawi mare, the beautiful, Moniet El Nefous.
Qamar's dam is Raqqisa whose sire line traces to Sameh who was dominant for extreme smoothness and passed it for generations. These were wonderful riding horses as well and very sweet.
Raqqisa's dam, Rahmaa was by *Morafic-fiery of spirit and the progenitor of the some of the world's most extraordinary horses (think in terms of Shaker El Masri, Shaikh al Badi, Shakhs just to name a few)and she traces back to the incredible Zareefa and on to Dahma, thus is a Dahman Shawan. So Qamar must be exceptionally beautiful and of a lovely character!
All your stallions should bless you with some exceptionally beautiful foals. Interestingly they are all Nazeer sire line!
Thank you too, for sharing pictures of your wonderful Shamarillo!

Your colt is lovely Linda (Timbercroft), and definitely looks like a top class ridden prospect
Very interesting and useful to hear Gari's words on your stallions bloodlines (Madryn Tsuleem and Qamar el Dine). Madryn Tsuleem is gorgeous and impeccably bred, and also a wonderful ridden star, but Linda, as you know, Qamar will always hold a special place in my heart. I first saw him at a show as a yearling (his beauty and movement brought tears to my eyes), and I have eagerly followed his 'career'.
I hope you don't mind my saying Linda, that Qamar has the most amazing 'dry' head - don't get me wrong, the rest of him is pretty brilliant too, but his head is just breathtaking. Do you have any pics of him to share - pretty please????

Hi Egbert
Thank-you so much for taking the time to get back to me! You are so spot-on about Madryn Tsuleem, he is what I call our super find! Very much a gentleman! It is really good to know what you have to say about his dam - we own her too, she is getting older now but we just love her to bits (she is in foal to Qamar for 2009!) He is a very special boy to us and its great to know your thoughts.
Qamar is quite a new stallion to us and it has taken me some time to buy this boy but sometimes things are meant to be! lots of people say he is exceptionally beautiful and im happy to agree with them!! I very much like his dam’s lines and it is so nice to see what you have to say about them.
I have a few mares I would love to run past you at sometime but I think I should give others a chance!!
Thanks again for your fantastic insight - i really appreciate it!
Hi Carla
Yes it’s so nice to have someone with masses of Knowledge comment on your horses!
I know what a soft spot you have for Qamar and I have to say walking out to him every morning is GOD-DAMN BRILLIANT (did I just shout that?!) I never get tired of looking at him (or any of my others!) but Qamar has been a dream of mine for a long time and its only just really sinking in he's mine! Thank you for your lovely words about Qamar (and the others) and hopefully you can follow him next year again! Ok a few pics just for you, now not the normal pics you would see of him some more natural ones - as I know you like a horses to be as much of horse as they can be! Warning LOTS OF MUD!
and one of Madryn Tusleem!

Linda, you are so right. Having Gari's input with her wealth of knowledge is amazing, and I am sure we are all very grateful to her for the time and effort that is taken to reply to these queries - you are a star Gari!!!
Aaaaahhhh!!! Qamar, he is gorgous even when muddy (mind you, he has a long way to go with the mud/filth technique to catch up with Poo, hee hee!!!). I really can't wait to see him out under saddle next year, he will be stunning!!! I am sure he will be as successful as his stable mate under saddle, Tsuleem was seriously impressive when I saw him this year.
Little bro (Beau) would send his love to Qamar, but he is still away at college for a few more weeks (and doing very well apparently!!!!). Can't wait to get him home, Amy and I so miss his cheeky attitude

Ooops, sorry, it is a bit small. I didn't want to oversize my signature pics and get told of by admin
Here you go, slightly bigger size:
and his impression of 'Pepe le Peu', minus his ears!!!!
Can you see the family resemblance between him and Qamar (although Qamar is much better behaved!!!).

Hi again, sorry but I am useless at putting piccies up, but a very kind lady on IH posted a picture of Zarello's yearling colt by Cas Ravel, for me. This is from a chestnut mum to a bay sire, mum just a couple of socks and star. The piccie shows Az in the field, ungroomed, but this I would like you to see as Egbert predicted that there was a strong possibility of a chestnut with flaxen mane and tail from this breeding. Neither parents have this, but I find it amazing that Egbert was so right. Look at this ...

Hi Gari, Just thought I'd share my latest snaps of Winged Saint, Kehailan Dajani and my proposed next mate for Narishka. He is now 18 years old - not looking bad on it! Me and these N line stallions! Of course both the horses I've chosen for my mare are Ludo grandsons too, in fact Saint is a great-grandson as well, so I guess I'm nothing if not consistent. So I've told Saint that he needs to give me a beautiful filly with his movement please - he was very sweet and polite but I'not sure what the answer was!
Hope you find these interesting. |

Oh my Katie, you have a very very special mare and with that pedigree-particularly as her dam line goes back to Rodania via the creme de la creme of British blood Pale Shadow, Bright Gleam, Azeme Bint Gleam...my heart is literally flip flopping with the joy of knowing that there is such a fabulous mare as what you have in your Elize Bint Alize. You can breed her to anything and have a fabulous result tho' I'd be looking at one of the great Skowronek line stallions. Her sire, Khazan Shah is nearly as royally bred! Sire line Nazeer of course...Would LOVE to see pictures of Elize! I don't think I've seen a pedigree that promises greater beauty than Elize's. WOW
With as much Nazeer blood you already have in the pedigree I would be cautious of going back to Nazeer lines (tho' love the Dhruv blood) and would be looking at non-Nazeer blood-preferably Skowronek lines like the Pecks' Gwyd, Carmargue Too, etc or even Winged Saint as seen below, or the Cullinhurst's leased stallion, Aja Sanchez. Wow does he look interesting! That is sire line Amurath Sahib via Menes/Kubinec (he is a stunner if those photos on the Cullinhurst website are a measure). What a dramatic cross that would be!
Don't misunderstand, with your mare's breeding you can go to the two stallions you like (tho' I am totally unfamiliar with Vazar's dam line) but think for a truly dramatic, dynamic result you would want to go to a different sire line. |

Hi Jackie,
The picture has been removed! Darn! If you can get it and put it up, would love to see it (so nice to be right, you know?)!
Thank you for trying! |

Hi Gari,
Am intrigued by the Apple Cider Vinegar suggestion. What should you do, if you're hoping for a colt? |
