Hi Gari,
Will post some photos of Ahanu next week. Although straight Egyptian he has his Crabbet Heritage certificate which makes him 31.21% Crabbet. |

Carla,
'Peggy' looks to be a stunner...Not surprising given the pedigree, either...It is almost an outcross pedigree but picks up close-Alaa El Din by Nazeer and out of Kateefa, a daughter of the Crabbet mare, Bint Rissala. Thus Alaa El Din is doubled in Peggy's pedigree and appears on both sides so is major influence. There are multiples of Crabbet throughout the pedigree via Egypt, Spain (Veralina, TAj el Nil tail female, being from the Duke de Veragua's stud, was probably by 99.99% certainty, pure Crabbet and unless I am suffering alzheimers...had a fair amount of top of the line Rodania blood....So you have basically outcross blood but containing outstanding Crabbet...With the original Crabbet journey mare, Hagar, a Keheilan Ajuz, your filly is a Kuhailan and reinforced with top Crabbet, Spanish and Egyptian blood. If super smooth and super sweet, would suspect that Veralina was one of the Sobha line mares that went to Veragua. Whatever, it looks like you have a major WOW! She will be very important and a dam that can be bred to anything with a stunning result. Well done Carla!
Becky,
Will check out NEW ARRIVALS! Thank you!
Kate,
Well, you know there is one mare on this earth...well maybe a couple...that I really covet and one of them is EA Amellia by Raji x Ammellita Bint Lavado. She is double Carmargue via her sire who is heavily Seglawi thus gifted with an extra amount of elegance not just via Bint Helwa but via Liana El Shaklan who traces to the outstanding Yeguada Militar import from the desert, Zulima. Interestingly this is the most successful Spanish dam line at the US National halter championships! EA Amellia's tail female traces to Dajania via the Skowronek daughter Naxina thus an extra added element of beauty is reinforced on the tail female.
The Amellia pedigree combined with that of Tobago is pure magic. Why?...All those lines to Naziri...and exquisitely beautiful ones at that via Carmargue and Padron. The fact that they share the same tail female line to Dajania means that not only will the baby be exceptionally beautiful, intelligent and very sweet - for Bright Shadow is tripled in the pedigree, but if a colt, it will be even more stunning than a filly-because that is the promise of the Keheilan Dajania tail female! My guess? If Amellia's in foal to Tobago she is carrying another British National Champion for Bill to show!

Hi Gari, I would love you to take a moment and go and read ( does anyone remember?) in the tea and coffee section of this forum, please, you just might be able to shed some more light on the subject and maybe confirm that this is one and the same mare. I do so hope it is as we have found living progeny. with your vast knowledge of pedigree's you could be the one to do it! |

Hi Egbert,
Thanks for looking at WR Aquila's pedigree, sorry I don't have any pictures as I have never seen her and she has now gone on loan to a lady who does a lot of endurance. Can you please suggest a breeding for my mare Brede Bellissma, she is the image of Makor with the exception of being 14.3 and a little shorter in the neck. There is a picture of her in my gallery taken when she was 7 years old.
thank you
Maureen |

Gosh! Thank you Gari! I knew for certain that you would approve of this match (I think this is one of the few times I have accepted a mare without consulting you LOL!). But I didn't expect quite such a glowingly confident prediction! Katie is one of the nicest people on the planet, so I hope you are right (as you usually are) and she gets a BNC from this match. Amellia has not been AI'd yet, we're just waiting for her to come in season...fingers crossed!
I totally agree with you about Amellia - and I suspect we are among many, many people who covet this mare! And she has all the beauty and style to match her illustrious pedigree - she was reserve supreme at the Northern C show and 2nd at the Nationals and Towerlands. A very, very special mare - this is such a big honour for Tobago!
Interesting what you say about the 'double Dajania' - I have read before about this line producing particularly good colts/stallions, and wondered whether both parents having tail-female Dajania would increase this effect. If all goes well, I suppose Katie might next year be one of the very few breeders actively hoping for a colt LOL! |

Well, remember...if you want fillies...you need to mix applecider vinegar in the feed. The amount varies. If you are on city or county water-it is usually ph balanced. BUT if you are on well water you would want to know how alkaline/acidic it is. For about 20 pounds you should be able to find out the ph of your water and then adjust the apple cider vinegar accordingly. I feed about 3 tablespoons in my grain daily or across ones hay as I am on city water. I usually start the vinegar at a teaspoon and build to 3 tablespoons over a 3 month period before covering...but yes, you are overdue for filly! Also vinegar is reportedly very good for digestion. |

Jade,
Thank you! Will go look!
Hi Kate,
Yes, works kind of in reverse for humans...But basically one is changing the internal body chemistry which is friendlier or hostile to the male/female gametes, is the way it was explained to me. Perhaps, more importantly it seems to help prevent colics, too.
Oh special announcement: Carabella, 3/4 sister to Antham but with a line to Carmargue, has had an exquisitely beautiful filly, (pale bay going gray, perfectly balanced with an extra scosh of neck, incredible head, huge eyes, short back, super long legs, by Res. Polish National Champion Equifor! .... out of this world....She was born late Monday night! YIPEEEE!!! |

It does make you wonder but I am sure that some people are 'made' to endure pain, and some even enjoy it!!! Definitely not for me though!!! So hope your rib heals very quickly, with as little pain as possible!!!
