Hi, Would you be so kind as to tell me a little about my Christmas pressie? She is not on allbreeds but her Sire is O-Tejo & her Dam Mont Blanc - they are both on. I have traced her pedigree back 7 generations but being a new owner I am lacking in knowledge! I have no plans to show or breed but would love to know how she might mature and what she may or may not be good at! This is a fascinating thread by the way! |

Hi Gang!
Just back up on line several hours ago after 3 days of hurricane velocity winds, rain, incredible damage and no power...house and horses ok, but trees and some fences down. Am going to take care of a few things then back to answer questions starting with those on p 55.

Hi
Gari i do hope everything is ok with you and all out there.
In the mean time Gari mentions on a previous page that Antham has a video on youtube and i thought i would also point out to everybody that there is also a video of Rushan on there too which i thought was super
I remember some time back at Towerlands UKIAHS a colt was presented by Barry Shephard in a display as opposed to a class, i remember him taking a fancy to the wooden ornamental display horse by the commentators box- was this Rushan or if not can someone tell me who it was?
Oh and Gari you are going to have to have a word with the authorities about relaxing the regulations cos ill be needing semen in 2010/ 2011!!

Hi Gari
Just asking for your expert knowledge again!!!!
I have been trawling around trying to find a nice stallion for my mare Lakota Cisco www.allbreedpedigree.com/lakota+cisco
here is a pic of her last foal who i beleive is out of JACADAH IBN TAZADAH.
I want something that is more exotic (well thats the hope) Improvement on movement and a more refined head and do I dare say it hopefully black, who would you reccomend in the UK as a stallion and would you reccomend any of the American stallions who have Frozen AI available I have looked at Pirandelo, NV Beau Bey and Saud El Zaghlouland think they are lovely boys and do like alot of their youngstock BUT would they compliment my mare in more ways than just colour?????
Who would you pick if she was your mare?

I am going to see Klinta Bashir in a couple of weeks time, Mrs Dorsey says that they have three foals I assume they are by Klinta Bashir.
I am going as I am considering putting my mare to him, they have said that they will take her and have invited me to go on a visit and explain how they run things there, I am concerned about putting my mare in with alot of other mares, but I don't mind if they just put her and Klinta in a field together on their own. Also she can be difficult to catch when there are a few horses in together.
Still I am looking forward to seeing him and the little ones.

Also ideas for our straight spanish Ibiza (Borneo x Estepa)again staight spanish preferred but as an aside she is to be covered by Om el Bahreyn this year, what do you think, is this likely to be a good cross
Thanks for your help
Yvonne
Details of their strains would be interesting too.
Hi Yvonne,
Hmmmm, what a lovely Seglawi/Jellaby mare you have there. I think I knew her wonderful dam when she was with Wendy. Her daughter must be stunning sired as she is by Ansata Qasim, a true Seglawi via Wanisa...
It is a question of which came first...That line from which your girl traces back, was called a Kuhailan Jellaby until it was discovered she shares the same mtDNA (mitochondrial dna) as Bint Helwa so I think of the line as being slightly more robust than the Helwas BUT the same courage and toughness as the best of the Seglawis....
There are two stallions I would consider for her if you can use them and that is Simeon Sadik who is as so many of you know, awesome OR if you can do some major arm twisting, Hafid jamil who must be the most beautiful Arabian ever born.
Om El Bahreyn is a fabulously bred young stallion...and with his folks would imagine he is hot...Crossed with Ibeza I just don't know as there are 4 Estepa's listed in All Breeds. If you would, please determine which she is. Thanks....
Dot,
Thank you!
More tomorrow!

Estepa took Junior World Champion for the Maxwells. She was by Ghadames out of Esperada (2)
Thanks for your kind words about Ggrace I don't think I'll ever get over losing her. Her daughter is a great character, quite challenging, frightened of nothing but due I think mainly to her colour will take time to fulfil her full beauty. She was exquisite when born and is now very tall and elegant. Obviously we have plenty of time with her to persuade Hassanain or Dr Nagel. She has good limbs so that may be the way to go. I am going to visit Hassanain soon and hope to see Hafid Jamil in the flesh
Bahreyn has sired some lovely foals, we had one out of our russian mare Mirabella (Balaton x Malinka) which was not a breeding I would have instintively done but it certainly produced beauty.

Yvonne,
Think the cross, Bahreyn on Ibiza would be very exciting. I've always felt that Estopa was a Kuhailan Dajania....based on the fact she produced as do her daughters today, outstanding stallions...which is the signature of Dajania line mares!
You never get over them but I think their spirits are such that they find ways of coming back to us.... |

Moatside,
Wish I could help but really need you to do a little homework. Put her on All Breeds. It isn't hard and I'll be happy to give you a reading. |

Well, it would be an interesting cross, lots of pretty, terrific intelligence...excellent structure and superb action....BUT think it could be a bit stuffy as the foal would be pure in the strain Kuhailan Dajania as both dam lines/strains are the same, and since you have a goodly portion of Kuhailan within the pedigrees, would think you would want a bit more scope and stretch.
Your mare's sire line is Mahruss-she has to be a rocket scientist but would love to know her color. Since a cross with Imad would bring sire line Skowronek, you should have a lot of smooth pretty.
What is your intent? What do you want to do with this foal? Do you want more scope, size? A performance horse or halter horse? both?

Hi Egbert,
She's not mine, she belongs to Sue Rose. Shayna Maydel is grey and a very successful show mare; she has been Mare of the Year twice at Horse of the Year show. The foal would be breed to be future ridden prospect and follow in its dam's footsteps |

Hi there,
Sire is straight Egyptian via Nazeer sire line. The sire's blood is gorgeous so would expect that your boy is very nice looking, too. The sire's dam line is to Bint Helwa so dad has to be pretty special-courageous, loyal, intelligent besides nice to look at!
The dam, Kytigra is by Ibn Tigris who traces to Kuhailan Haifi via *Bask, a US National Champion in halter and performance on the sire line. The motion and athletic ability here should be exceptional in your boy. Interestingly, she is double Donax, who had he only sired one horse (he sired many ) there could be none more influential than the great Zircon Nazeer, one of the most beautiful stallions ever! With that blood in your boy's pedigree combined with his tail female line to the great Nuhra, a Wadnan Khirsnan, I would expect Ibn Kysari could be a show horse and excel in both halter and performance.
Have a hunch you have a very beautiful, special guy! |
