The second white one is indeed Al Adeed. The first looks a bit like TheEgyptianPrince to me. But somehow I think it could also be a mare...
By the way: The black and white pics above, was this indeed Zircon Nazeer? |

The photo is of a mare to which Al Aadeed is related. And no the black & white photo's aren't of Zircon Nazeer

Hi Anne, I think Mike's clue was the link to the Imperial Stud website. The mare in the photo is Malekat el Gamal, Al Adeed's maternal grandmother. I had looked on the website before, but wasn't sure it was her. |

Hi,
I am 99.999% certain that the horse is indeed Hamdan taken in very old age. The man holding the horse is I believe Mr Ahmed Hamza, who was of course Hamdan's last owner and there is a very similar photo(where the horse is identified as Hamdan) with Mr Hamza wearing the same clothes but Hamdan is stood on his right rather than on his left as here Which makes me think that both photos were taken during the same photo session

Thanks for that Mike,
If people scan a photo and post it and someone else then scans it, it oftern happens that you get a flipp image this could explane your two photos.
Thanks again.

Do you want me to answer that Bob? Seriously though when I have time I will scan and post the photo of HamdanThough technically speaking the caption is misleading rather than being incorrect

Hmmmmm... 1958 should have been on the line underneath as it looks like he was born in 1958, when it was in fact that year he was Champion Stallion.. Or do you think about something else? |

Hi Siri,
First may I extend a BIG WELCOME to you as a new member and hope your stay will be long lived,
You are correct in that the date refers to his win, but this is not what I am looking for, by the way in the way of a clue, this was taken from a book of passed USA National Arabian Champions.

The horse in the first photo seems to have a long neck and the horse in the second a short neck. Is one of them a different horse? The second one is probably Mujahid [ Sureyn x Silver Crystal] and the first phot is a differnt horse. ?????????? |

The 2nd photo is indeed Mujahid photographed presumably around the age he was when he was US National Champion. The pose and manner of the photo are typical of how arabs were portrayed in photos during the 1950's in the USA The trend being to try to make the horses look muscular and powerfull along the lines of a scaled down quarterhorse
But, fashions in photography change as they do in horses, so this later photo also shows Mujahid, note also the change in halter style
As does this one

Hi, Thank you all for your input, this was not intended to be a trick question, it was more to say do not believe anything you hear and only believe half of what you see.
The second horse was indeed
Mujahid Sureyn x Silver Crystal USA National Champion
But the first horse was
Azraff 1949(Raffles - Azja) Colour: gr Height: 15h
AHR 5596
Raffles\\\' most prolific son. Died 1978. Sire of 21 Champions & National Champions.
These were taken from a book of USA National Champions I think 1958, but the first one is a mislabel.
