Unfortunately couldn't take my boy but went to watch. I think you will be after in-hand results in which case I'll disappoint you. The HOYS tickets (unless any of them have already qualified) went to Stallions - Saroukh ridden by A Brown Mares - Shayna Maydel, ridden by Darren Crowe Geldings - Storm Gold, ridden by Tina Bennett
The later part of the morning was deluged by stair-rod rain complete with thunder and lightning. Well done to them all, especially in the gelding class when it really let it down, for keeping going in (almost) the wettest ridden showing class I've seen. (Well done judge Malcolm Rankine too - he must have been like a wet sponge...) |

I think in the Three year old colts, Jabban came seconed Vera I stayed long enough just to watch his class.
The youngsters of both sexes in all the 1,2 and 3 yrs classes were stunning, such a high quality show. You need a world class animal to get placed here.
Well done to all the handlers, how brave to keep going in such weather. Can anyone fill in the stallion placings please?

Hi Sue, you're quite right, Jabban was 2nd in his class - pulled up from 3rd or 4th place.
Senior stallions and champion was won by the Atkins stallion beginning with K and 2nd and reserve was the carrs stallion. Sorry, got so wet in the ring yesterday that I think my brain is waterlogged! |

Thought maybe I could fill in a few gaps.
Senior Yearling class
1st Gloriana 2nd ROE Lahad 3rd Mirage Psyndikate
Gloriana, bred and owned by ourselves at Argos Hill Arabians is by Ekstern out of Vainglorious (by Padron's Psyche). Her first outing as a yearling, Gloriana went on to be Junior Female Champion with a beautiful US import, Kyla Jean her Reserve for Mrs A Ware.
The three year old filly class was won by the stunning and successful Alishya for the Atkins family ahead of our Lady Madonna by Psyche's Spirit (Birchenley's Reserve Champion and winner of the Major Hedley breeders Cup). Alishya was Reserve's Reserve Champion.
Junior Male Champion was the pretty Audemars Pa (Birchenley's Reserve Champion) by Kais I out of Asali, bred by Jackie Ware and owned by Anjuli Bethell. His reserve was H Tobago for Gamlin, Matthews, Ratcliffe.
Senior Stallions
1st Karat 2nd Ali Khaziel 3rd Ibn Charisma
Karat, a striking and athletic horse was Senior Male Champion for the Atkins family with the pretty Ali Khaziel his reserve for Silverdale Arabians.
I didn't see most of the mare classes so maybe someone else can fill this in, but our Windella Silver Sensation trotted up a storm to take 2nd place in a very strong class of Senior mares.
Senior Mares
1st Flirtation 2nd Windella Silver Sensation 3rd G Baryshnia
A very big thank you to Barry Shepherd who, as ever, showed all of our horses perfectly. They all went fantastically and resulted in us taking home two firsts, two seconds, a fourth and Junior Female Champion.
Congratulations to everyone else on their results!

As SueB said world class horses here ! just one little correction though Heather, Wasama Bint Malika is not owned by Ms Ware so was not reserve champion, ( unfortunatly) although she did win her class( her first time out) she is by WSA Charismma x Malika. I believe the the horses were all wonderful and to come in the first three was certainly a great honour. |

Yes congratulations to Lisa with Fflirtation, a lovely mare! and of course your other super results.
As I said I don't know all the mare results and was hoping someone would put the full results in, but I will put what I know. The Junior mares was won by R Bey Ali for the Rodgers, shown by Veronica Rodgers usually busy in the ridden ring. The Intemediate mares was won by Cas Symphony (who I think won Malvern last year). I don't know any of the mare with foal results.
As afore said Fflirtation was Senior Female champion and Cas Symphony was her reserve. Lovely for Mark Gamlin to see, he said that Fflirtation was the first Ffatal baby he bred.
It was a very difficult day to show in, the heavens absolutely opened and at one point when the Junior championships kept being posponed and with the arena flooded it looked unlikely that the days judging would get finished. However everyone (horses, handlers, judges and stewards alike) got stuck in and did their best. The supreme championship was cancelled due to the conditions. Thanks to all the die-hard spectators for keeping up the support, I think is a British trait that when things get tough, people get a real sense of camaraderie and this was no exception. Well done and thanks to the Show Director, Susan Murphy, and the many helpers for keeping the show going to a successful end.
Thanks for all the kind comments, both here on AL and at the show. I was proud of all of our horses though particularly Glorianna, she handled her first show bravely and Prodigy who really strutted his stuff. Another good day for Psyche's Spirit's progeny who was unable to make the show due to injury. I feel lucky to have so many lovely horses, breeding is a priviledge and a responsibility and, I am sure like many others, I make my breeding plans with much thought.

PS We stayed overnight. It RAINED for much of the evening, covering the arena again; very windy during the night and we awoke to brilliant sunshine which continued until about Birmingham on our journey north. It's just started thundering up here...
So glad the show was just about completed...just the supreme abandoned which was a pity as the trophy is in memory of Pat Coward. |

Marylin,
Sorry, I didnt get to say hello, we were too busy watching the ridden, and then we hit the road just after 5pm, to get back, long trip from Kent in a truck & trailer. Also spent most of the day kicking myself for not working my mare in long enough, didnt take her in the ring, as she still needed more work, only to find lumps under her saddle yesterday, no wonder she wouldnt settle and work!! Shes changed shape so much, its now not fitting prop' so Im saying by by, to my nice fylde show saddle, and rushing to buy a nice new suede black country one!!!! So might have to miss showing at Hocon, depending on new saddle, but we will still be going!! James will get the horse this week from Kathy!!! |

Lynda, the only results I have for Part Breds and Anglos in-hand is Turning Point (Lynn Lidburys)Champion Male, and a newcomer........Weirton Royal Signet, Reserve Male champion, owned by a Mrs Bundy?!
We must do something to help the Wales and West get more Part and anglo entries. Thinking cap is on, and action is in the pipeline.... |
