Right girls.... It's looming ever closer now! What will you be up to this coming Monday? It's my turn this year so I'm cooking his favourite meal and might be adding a little surprise in the fortune cookie too!!! Non-conventional I know but I'm a non-conventional kinda gal!
Wish me luck.....

Well Done You ! My OH phoned me at 9:30 this morning from his work and asked if I fancied going out on Monday night ! I'm still in a state of shock ! He's always complained about Valentine's day being commercialised garbage and how I've never to expect anything from him - ever ! And he's been as true as his word - to date
But . . . maybe I should worry instead of being blissfully happy - maybe he's feeling guilty about something
But we're off out to the local eatery for dinner on Monday and boy am I looking forward to it

We have decided to low key it this year due to lack of funds for anything that doesnt have 4 legs or a roof. We are going to exchange cards and I have asked him to tile my kitchen floor in my new house as his present to me, I told him this would mean more as anyone can go out and buy a box of chocs but it takes real dedication to tile a floor!
I am going to take us to the cinema.
Hopefully next year we can go over the top to make up for the lack of flowers this year!
GOOD LUCK TRACEY!!!!!!!!! |

Nothing remotely romantic I´m afraid. I just came out with it - apparently he´d been wanting to ask me but didn´t know how to approach the subject!!

I have booked to take John to a little restuarant in Ashbourne Monday evening.
I,m having six light sussex bantams This may seem strange, but I have wanted some chickens for ages, the poultry house arrived Wednesday, and the bantams are being bought over at the weekend. |

I won't be getting anything or going anywhere as we are broke
Last year I told my OH that i wante to go to this nice restaurant.... I told him so many times and kept reminding him from 6 weeks before V day.... then a few days before I asked him if we were going and he said it didn't look like it as we were 11th on the waiting list... I thought he might be winding me up but he wasn't, i was so dissapointed Now if i want to go somewhere i make sure i book it myself!
Good luck Tracey! How exciting!!!! |

I'm not going anywhere either Michelle ! but I have no man which is a major stumbling block !
So I'm staying here looking after horses and kids while the boss swans off to Paris - nice !
Oh well - there's always next year !

Propably won't do anything as my OH hasn't got a romantic bone in his body, last year he (when I handed him the phone and made him) booked a table at the local Italian...got all excited about a nice romantic meal for two but it was not to be as 3days before he invited our friends to join us so 2 became 4 |

Good luck, Tracey!!!!
Last year, my wonderful Arab was about to arrive within a couple of weeks and John built her ~ well, me ~ if you she what I mean, a stable for Valentine's day! Better than a card or chocs ~ although I seem to recall that I did get a card too!Bless him!
This year, because every packet of photos he sees coming back from the developers has pics of Chlio, looking mulish or asleep or rolling or all nose or all bottom, or tongue out.....he decided to get me a digital camera so I could CHECK the RESULT of pressing the shutter before the image is forever committed to PRINT!
Now, I can work the camera....wish me luck installing the software on this computer.....
John is dreadfully romantic and booked us a meal at a really lovely restaurant overlooking one of the most lovely bays over here in Jersey....but we both have a heavy cold and can't smell or taste much ~ so we cancelled and will do it next week when we're better!
Hope everyone has a great day on Monday and that any proposals go well! |

My OH is taking me shopping on Saturday - for lavender plants of all things!!
He thinks that cut flowers are a waste as they only die and so, as I've spoken about planting lavender around our little place (as it's meant to discourage flys - and the horses meadow is straight out our back door) he's decided that we will go and chose the plants and large pots from the local garden nursery.
Love him to bits!!

Oh, bless him!!!!
John realised how much I coveted his Makita rechargeable torch..... no DON'T LAUGH ~ I'm always borrowing it..... so today, when I came home, I found he'd gone and got me TWO !!!
Awwww! Now, I realise that isn't dreadfully romantic .... but I'm VERY lucky in having a man who believes in overblown romantic gestures as well as practicalities....I suspect something frilly or flowery may be on the agenda!
Now, all I have to do is get HIM something!!! He's such a soppy old romantic that I reckon some slushy love songs to go in the car CD player might be what I get him and maybe some man's cologne ~ I'd return the favour I guess and head for a power tool but he's not short in that department!
Now, now ~ steady, girls!!!
He IS A BUILDER!!!!
I've actually thought I may get HIM a red rose as he loves spoiling me with flowers which always make the place look bright and cheerful in the middle of winter .... and I know he wouldn't refuse choccies ~ especially caramel ones! I reckon a nice bottle of Nuit St George should set the mood along with a good old feed of fillet steak au poivre .... ( dinner out is next week instead now!) the way to my man's heart is certainly through his stomach and I love the way he always appreciates my cooking ~ anyway, if God had meant him to be bean pole thin, he'd not have made me such a good cook!!!!
We're stil having that dinner out ~ but while the fluey thing isn't 100 per cent gone, we thought we'd postpone until next week.
I want to spoil him, he does, after all build me stables without so much as a question for all the horses I've ever presented him with....five so far!
Whatever we do, it will be special ~ even if we just curl up on the sofa, as there is nothing better than being in the home you created, with the one you love ~ even if the kids are around ~ they're ours and we love 'em! Cosy more than romantic, maybe! But that's not really the frills of "romance" ~ nice though they are ~ that's real love!
Bless him ~ no one else would love me AND my 5 horses, 2 dogs, a cat, 7 turkeys, 6 rabbits, the chickens and the RAT quite the way he does!!!!
He must be mad ~ in which case, we're a perfect pair!

Hey Tracey, I hope your gran has some success. Internet dating - yep tried that too, i always end up with the stalkers. Talk about crazy for you - these guys were all mental. Nope I reckon I am better off on my own. I can sit around in my PJs on a Sunday morning ( well it is just about )chatting online.
