Hmmmm, where do I start?

WEll, I've been contacted by my regional endurance representative, who has asked if I'll represent our area on a ride in Nottingham (Haywards Heath) in September. Hugely flattered as I am (I've never been asked to represent anyone for anything EVER)I just dont think my lovely arab boy is up to it. He's been turned away for about 6 weeks with a back problem, which transpires is because of his saddle. That's getting sorted out now, but he's very unfit and I know he would'nt be fit for the ride. It's 50km.

Here's the cheeky part.....does anyone here in Endurance GB have a horse I could borrow....intermediate....for the Haywards Heath Ride on the 19th September? I'm sort of cringing as I type this, I've never asked such an enormous favour in my life, but I'm avid to do this ride. My endurance friend in Gloucester has said I could have borrowed her mare but she's off to stud next week (mare, not friend).

I'm in Bath, and belong to Wessex region. I'm 5'6", weigh about 10 and a half stone,, have light hands and am used to arabs and need a qualified intermediate horse.

thanks (sort of blushing as I send this) C x

Hi Carol,

Think you'll find the Inter Regionals 18th/19th Sept is Sherwood Forest Ride at Blidworth, Notts.
Sorry I can't help you, have you tried asking through your own group. Someone may be able to help.

Fingers crossed for you. If you do go, come and see us there, we're normally in a corral at the far corner of the field. Organisers think that my stallion will break loose or something, so they put him as far away from other horses as possible. Not that he cares, he just gets on and eats. lol

Hi all. I've called off the search....had a good think about it and to be honest why should anyone lend me their precious creature. I know I'd be a bit loathe to lend Rupert to anyone unless I knew them really well. The only other solution would have been to buy myself an intermediate,(any excuse for another arab LOL),but I can't afford to keep another one in the style and luxury it would deserve.
So there we have it riders, the other teams can breathe easy as I wont be competing this year!!! Although...of course....there's always next year.......
cheers for now.
