Hi,
I am thinking of purchasing an arab horse.
Is there a directory anywhere where I can view what his parents have done?
I have tryed googling them but to no success.
He is by Paisano Phantom Flight, out of Madryn Korana. What is he likely to be bred for? Racing? Showing? Endurance?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Juliee,
Welcome to AL ! I have just looked on www.allbreedspedigree and found Paisano Phantom Flight's pedigree which appears to be very high percentage Crabbet. So this horse should be able to do whatever you want him/her to do ! ! IMHO only !
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/paisano+phantom+flight
Can't find the dam on there though, maybe some of the more knowledgeable posters on here can pour some light on her ?
Good luck in your purchase !

The horse you are looking at his Dam has done 1 endurance ride back in 2000.
The sire is very high crabbet.
What are you looking to do with the horse.
Crabbet horses make very good riding horses that can do anything.

Oooh thanks! You've both been very helpful.
Do you think this lad would be any good at arab racing? Or do they have to have been specifically bred for racing to be any good at it?
Thanks again, its much appreciated. |

l noticed that several horses in his pedigree have produced racing stock
stargard sired sahra 11 who was the dam of shirahra who was in the guiness book of records and produced the famous race horses rasdi and rasheen [which for some reason is not in allbreeds] l owned her in her later life a wonderfull mare..although never riden when she was with me l understand she did dressage at one time
so l guess you could do about anything with this horse

Stargard was a doing horse - and you also have 2 lines to Oran, which is some of the best performance blood around (he was grandsire to an Olympic silver medallist, amongst others!)

I think the sire is 100% Crabbet as far as I can tell. Lovely breeding. What is the breeding of the dam?? Monique |

Racing, that could be controversial. What started as an amateur sport is now semi professional, and race lines in the frame today have french bloodlines. A great many don't look much like Arabs, more like TB's.
The good solid home bred horses and blood lines that won in the early years are now rarely seen. Even Polish and Russian lines which traditionally were always tested on the racetrack are less in evidence to the French.
Having said that if the horse is what suits you have a go at racing, but unless its your life long passion enjoy your Arab for the many OTHER things he can do well. |

I had an anglo mare from flight, he is 100% crabett and was owned by a lovely lady called daphne who generally bred for endurance.
my mare was called paisano phantom flight and was from an anglo mare called granby tessa gillian who Daphne also owned.
Flight is a delightful stallion who covered either by running with the mares or he would cover in hand in the field a real gentelman, when I went to see Daphne he ate bred from my 2 year old daughters hand while she sat on the wall to his field |
