My beloved Kharidian will be 16 years old in May - I can't believe the time has gone so fast. Anyway, please indulge me in a little nostalgia; these are my favourite photographs of Kharidian as a foal (he was approximately one week old when these were taken):
Feeling a little shy:
I love you, mummy:
Feed me - now!:
Look at me:
He has always been a character - and I wouldn't change anything!

Thanks Fleas, I've just seen your post on HPEC - with the lovely photos you took today . When you see some of the other HPEC posts you realise we've been lucky with the weather, really.
Yes, Kharidian's dam is a beautiful mare who won the 4-5 year old mare class at UKIAHS in 1990. She is now working hard in Devon, regularly doing 20+ miles per day, range clearing for the MoD! |

Indulge away Caryn, he's a gorgeous boy. Mum looks a bit tired (know how she feels) she's absolutely stunning.
Can we see some of him all grown-up? |

Thanks for all your lovely comments everyone! Montikka - yes, his dam was looking forward to a rest but "sir" wanted a drink.....hence he was digging at her to stand up.....and she relented! I'd never seen a foal do that before and I wish I'd got a video of him. He was so colty with the other foals that he was gelded at about five months old although, apart from being "nippy" he was never colty with people.
There are various "grown-up" photos around on this forum and I've just uploaded one of him as a 2-year old to the Crabbet thread.

Oh - I'll go take a peep - love to see how they develop over the years; he certainly looks very intelligent and, perhaps a little cheeky! Bet you've had fun gaining his respect. By the looks of your sig pictures you've done a wonderful job - he is stunning |

Montikka, Thank you. Kharidian is very intelligent, knows more commands than any other horse I know and, I suppose because I've been consistent with him all his life, is so obedient. I take liberties with him that I can't imagine doing with any other horse.
There have never really been any respect issues - he is 100% sure that I know best and he's quite happy to go along with that; and add to that the fact that he's got very little "mental stamina" means I very easily "won" any minor battles as a youngster....and never needed to repeat a lesson.
