Have to agree there Joto......used to Launder/Repair/Waterproof Rugs, and the old Canvas NZ Rugs a real nightmare!! and a very hard way to earn extra cash, and make use of the Commercial Washing m/c we purchased, for washing our own rugs.

Velcro - excellent time-saver; used to spend hours putting on boots - four straps at the front, five at the back, fiddly little leather buckles - spent half an hour tacking up!!
Yep - good to be away from New Zealands too !!(that's rugs, not people!)
Great to get away from: witney blankets, jute rug + Anti cast roller Now just pop on a nice duvet-style stable rug.
And HUGE wheelbarrows so you don't have to visit the muck heap 12 times a day.

Modern bedding - in particular Nedz Advance... pelleted straw. Five times more absorbent than shavings, muck heap one fifth of the size, mucking out takes one fifth of the time and cheaper too!

Mine has got to be the "EQ Cozy Cover" - a fleece riding-hat cover with built in ear-flaps and which velcos across the chin - really snug and warm and which doesn't inhibit vision when riding on the roads. Unfortunately I only managed to source it once in a Robinsons (I think) sale and can't find them for sale in the UK any more or I'd make a fortune selling them locally! |

Large rubber buckets for water in my paddocks
They cause far less injuries that metal water troughs |

Shedding blades - Yes yes yes! My PBAs will tolerate that on their tickly tums where they won't tolerate a brush without looking as if they would like to bite me if they dared. |
