For ages I've wanted to get some nice pics in the snow, but either it s a blizzard and the horses are in, or I've them out with rugs on before thinking about photos. This time I had it all planned out and dashed outside at first light to turn the horses out to play while I madly took photos and then brought them all in again ...

I tried to name them but obviously technical expertise failed !
The grey is Za Marengo, (Flambaard/Shahkira) - he is 8, and my endurance horse, I am very proud of him because he got to Advanced last season, and probably wasnt born to Endurance.
The youngster to his left who will be grey but is a sort of dappled mud colour, is Mukhtar (Klinta Bashir/Moongleam) all Crabbets and will be 3 this year. I hope he is my endurance horse for the future.
The chestnut cavorting to the Left of Marengo in the 2nd pic down is my lovely Witchi, real name Akala (St John/Aisha) another Crabbet and she is 23 and still strutting her stuff.
Rolling at the bottom is Rummy (parentage unknown but Cleveland Bay/TB) 10yr old and OH riding horse and honorary Arab !

Lovely photos, its great to see them in the snow, they really seem to enjoy themselves, and they get all the mud off their legs without grooming or washing them. |

Ang - You knew him when he was skinny and endurance like - lol, thats what 3 months off does for your waistline.
My showing friends think he looks fab as he looked too skinny before ! so here's hoping we can squash in a couple of shows before he gets too fit again. Actually I'm hoping he'll keep some weight on now that he's not so stressed about loading and about life in general.
