Advice please on discouraging foal not to bite his mums tail which is reducing in length/thickness. I've tried pepper, mustard without success.

Have found neat washing up liquid does the trick, can be easily washed out too unlike the sticky anti chew stuff.

Same as Mrs Vlacq neat washing up liquid, did the trick when one of ours took a fancy to her mums tail..

for the advice; mum will be needing extensions soon if I dont resolve the problem! I'll smile if he starts frothing at the mouth.

Try Tabasco Sauce.......!

Our first homebred fancied her Mum's forelock and it hasn't been the same since! Second foal fancied Mum's tail, but that has recovered very well...third foal didn't fancy Mum's hairy bits at all, so am busy wondering what the forth one is going to do?????????

Hi, I use Tailgator tail gaurds to keep the mares tails clean, im told that people use them to also stop foals chewing mums tails.
