Hi, I am near basingstoke and we pay £1.50 a bale for straw, lovely golden bales and thats delivered and £2.80 for hay, really good quality. we do have to order a trailer load but we all get together at the yard and take one delivery. I am shocked at some of the prices you are paying but may have to keep my supplier secret or he will run out LOL x
Just discovered a farmer near Weston Super Mare doing big bale hay OR haylage for £15 per bale. Small bales of hay £2.50. The largest types of bales of straw (have to be delivered though) are £28 but these are the largest type you can bale and only 3 to the tonne.
I thought the round bales were very good value though and just bought 2 to see how long they last.
Hi, 8 for giant round bales of straw in Norfolk still. But I know that due to harvest, there is a real scarcity of supply so would recommend anyone that can to get their orders in early and try to reserve supply. I would like to know what people are paying for Haylage in large round bales ? and what supply is like ?
