It may seem a simple subject but being new to arabians I would really appreciate some tips on managing my mare's beautiful long mane which she has started to rub; also her foal is now chewing her tail. I have dressed her mane with louse powder and used fly spray to stop the flys biting but she continues to rub against the side of the stable. Some years ago I sucessfully used Benzylbenzolate ointment on horse with bad sweet itch - my mare hasnt before had this problem though and is 10 years old. Advice much appreciated please.
I posted a thread on here a while ago and the consensus was MTG or MGT can't remember the way it went round, my filly had rubbed her mane out and it is definatly helping it to regrow
The arabian emporium and halter ego both stock Shapleys, has been a godsend grows inches in weeks!!mends the hair and makes it grow quicker, also coconut oil makes manes and tails growth much quicker.
