Hi Folks,
thought you might spare a thought for Amanda.She is in hospital awaiting an op to repair a fractured cheek and jaw.She also has an awfull gash across her cheek which will be repaired at the same time under GA tomorrow morning.
She just got knocked down by a foal who was spooked (probably by me !)This really is a lesson in how easily accidents can and do happen.Hopefully she will be put back as good as new by this time tomorrow.

Sorry to hear she's hurt and sending best wishes for a speedy recovery. These accidents can happen in a split second and I've had similar happen to me.
She is going to feel very bruised for a while so arnica would be some help. I have been giving some to my son who mashed his arm quite badly when he came of his mountain bike. You can get it from Boots homeopathy
section and I think Holland and Barrett sell it too. |

Heres wishing Amanda a speedy recovery,
Yes loose horses and even foals hurtling towards you loose, can be like a missile, very dangerous, I remember once when my favourite mare came galloping at speed past me in the field, I stepped one way to avoid her just as she did the same thing, and we were on the path of collision, I closed my eyes thinking this is it waiting for the awful impact, when she somehow corrected herself just in time and brushed past me I stood in amazement wondering how we had avoided each other, she must have made a tremendous effort, glad to say it worked and I am still here to tell the tale. |

Amanda is having a real run of bad luck right now.......she needs positive thoughts please to reverse this.
Just shows us all that foals are not easy for anyone, no matter how experienced you are. If you think what a big dog can do at full pelt when it hits, think about a foal.
