The best person to ask for very original names is Nick Arnold and Mair. They are brilliant at choosing names.
She was meant to be a he and called after a racing driver, Fittipaldi(spelling?) but as she is a she, we have got our World Atlas out to ponder over now. |

Brilliant Sue, you certainly don't need my chestnut Montoya filly now with a baby like that. |

Oh Sue, the last thing I want or need nowadays is a strapping yearling colt prancing round on the end of the leadrein. However.....it is what Luke wanted! |

Poor Mum - I've never heard of a mare screaming whilst giving birth before - it must have been awful...
What a beautiful filly though !
Just out of interest Sue - looking at that mane it looks chestnut in the piccy - if it's not a stupid question, how can you tell it will be flaxen ? (Just asking because my 8 week old colt is sprouting lots of white in his mane, and i'm praying/hoping he will be flaxen, my all time fav ! ) |

Hi Jane,
The chestnut filly in the sig photo below didn't show flaxen mane until a yearling. She now has a chestnut filly by AV Montoya and I wouldn't be at all surprised if she goes flaxen as well although showing no signs at the moment. But mum and dad were both flaxen. |

Hi Jane,
My last post....for a while. G.Fantastica gave us a filly in 2004. This filly, Fahima was exactly the same colouring as the foal we have here. The blonde mane didn't come till the winter though. Pic taken in the Spring as a yearling. She was by Padrons Psyche.
My filly here only has one white sock and a funny narrow stripe down her face. I also think this latest foal is the best my mare has ever had. Big words I know, but I do believe that. You will see her on the 17th Jane.

Just for Jane......I've taken a photo this morning of 'Blondey' stable name for our filly
Her very first time out. Poured with rain all day yesterday. If you look closely at her mane you will see the faint white hair coming throughher tail is like a bunnies, up all the time and white
I have to add that all of Montoya's foals seem to have lovely beards!!! |

She really is a beauty.
I've seen Fahima out a couple of times and must admit I did covet her a bit......
I do have a terrible weakness for deep chestnut with flaxen mane /tail.... |

Congratulations Sue what a beautiful filly and really pleased the wonderful Fantastica has given you a final filly to carry on the line, and great name Kash!!
I do love Montoya's foal very elegant and athletic and beautiful faces as well. Fantastica is a credit to you and your stud Sue and she has produced so many decent stock the lovely Fantasist, Fahima is beautifil and Fantastika who looked to be a quite a promising prospect when she raced in 2006 and has now won so many decent ridden classes.
Hope Fantastica enjoys her retirement and maybe she saved the best for last.

What a beautiful filly! As one would expect from her breeding, of course! Congratulations Sue - you deserve the best and it looks as though Montoya and his lovely mares are providing it! |
