Sorry only just read this.
We went did 30 minutes down the wrong path with about 30 other riders, came out of venue into the car park two massive arrows pointing wrong way and other riders in front of us (deadly). We only realised when we saw the ashbourne sign and then about twenty riders heading towards us.
We only got 10 minutes allowance, and they remarked the arrows correctly.
My husband horse lost a shoe so retired only doing the pleasure on our baby Kaz, he was walking back to venue when an irish gentleman asked him why he was walking and he showed him the shoe, the man said hold the shoe up and keep your luck in, five minutes later he found a pound coin, so he is putting this on the lottery this week!!
I continued as I was doing the 40k lovely ride last sections was very slippery roads and nearly all road work quite a shame really for such a lovely area, the deep ford was nice though.
Enjoyed it and the weather was kind.

We did find it and really enjoyed the day. Everyone without exception took time to talk to us and explain different things and it was a very friendly environment. Needless to say we are keen to have a go, starting with the pleasure rides of course and have been out every evening this week hacking and timing to get used to the different paces and speeds. We havent got all arabs but there was such a wide variety at the ride that Im sure my cob and Stuarts quarter horse could manage it if they get fit. I think this is the road for Matisse when he is old enough and mature enough to be ridden, he would love it
