I went on a carrabian cruise ( and I cant even spell it) it was, WOW WOW WOW WOW( as the song goes) evryday you wake up in a new place, everything is done for your pleasure, some dont even want to get off the ship. you eat way too much, and get to see all the places you dreamed of, have a good time and dont think of us for one minute

Never been on one for health and safety reasons - health wise I'd eat all the pies and safety wise, I would endanger the other passengers cos I wouldn't be able to predict when I was going to explode.

I can see the attraction and know lots of folks who absolutely love them, but don't think it's for me.

Hope you have a good time and enjoy yourself !!

Merlot!!! Cruise and Explode really appeals to me too

Cruising wouldn't be my choice because I like my own space sometimes (because I am a spoilt, only-child brat), and I like the peace and solitude of a quiet place, but if you are up for non-stop partying/activity a cruise sounds perfect.

Have a wonderful time, and make sure you get to sit on the Captain's table at least once!!!

Carla, xx.

We went on one in January. Had a week in Florida then sailed to eastern caribean. I never fancied it but it was ok, a week was enough for me, mind you the weather wasn't brilliant so that didn't help. The ship was lovely and the food delicious even if there was too much. Lots of very large people eating too much
Having said that I would go again and in fact only last night my OH found one in paper that sounds really good. It's a week in new 5* Hotel in Dubai then a week sailing around UAE, we're thinking about booking for Feb/Mar next year, trying to find out when Arab show & world cup is to try to go at same time. Anyone any idea?
Hope you have a great time Claire.

does a school cruise count? I went on one when I was nearly 15, from an all girls school, spent most of the time sunbathing near some particular boys, hitching sun top up and lowering shorts to expose more midriff each day, overall although it was May it was far too hot for me.

We stopped at Funchal on the Madeira isles, Morrocco, Gibraltar where a trip up the rock landed one of the famous barbary apes on my neck and refused to be shifted, and Lisbon.

It was the SS Nevasa, which I think might have seen service as a troop ship and they wanted to get some mileage out of the bunk bed dormitories.

We did the sea route from south Korea to Japan a couple of years back, could have taken fast shuttle but thought it would be nice to renew aquaintance with the sea - even though I live close to the coast I don't use it as a leisure facility.

There was an advertisng book on the Korean ferry, promoting a company that had COSTA as a prefix, even I had to look twice at the advert for the cruise liner COSTA LOTTA.

I went on a 3week cruise with my mum as a last girly jaunt before my wedding .
We had booked for , 2weeks Egypt, but my Mum had a house fire and was burned, and had a lot of skin grafts ,( from her waist, up into her armpit , and down her arm to wrist) The surgeons said no sun for a year, so next year we re-booked to Egypt.....and the terrorist attacked Luxor !!!...SO... the cruise company thought it was such bad luck they gave us an upgraded cabin on a 3 week cruise in the Med IT WAS FAB!!!! we had a great weather, and really really relaxing time. we read lots of book, drank lots of G&T, got dressed up most nights, and the waiters had our glasses of port ready for us after dinner to watch the show each night.
The big ships are really luxurious, and theres lots to do, and when you visit places you get really good info and guides.
I really did not think it would have suited me but it was a wonderful holiday and I am determind to do another one year.
MUM went on to do lots more cruises all over the word, she loves em!
Take a camera.....we want photos.....and do go to the midnight buffets even if you don't want to eat...they are amazing to see , they are so presented.Polly

If you want a cruise go on the Merkin thread we've been all round the world and it hasn't cost s a penny! Seriously though - never been will never go as dont like to be surrounded by the sea - but 3 or so years ago my parents, brother sister inlaw and their two teenagers went on a two week caribean cruise over xmas and new year. It all went tits up from day one - my parents had booked a berth with a balcony - it never materialised - then my nephew came down with chicken pox and was confined to his cabin for ten days! They went to one place think it was Margarita (scuse spelling) no sooner did they get off the boat than they were told dont go there far too ropey - so they turned around and went back on board. Anyway they had a nice time on the whole apart from everything going wrong - and my parents coming home and nearly heading for the divorce courts - oh yeah and my brother and nephew having to stay on board for another weeek as he wasnt allowed to fly home - But they all said they would go on a cruise again but not together - families ey? From what my family said cruising is wonderful but everyones experience is different! My mum summed it up not long ago when my dad decided that he wanted to go round the world on a cruise - How the hell am I going to cope being cooped up with him for 3 months he drives me mad now! Each to their own.
