With the utmost delight we can announce the arrival of a truly beautiful colt from our lovely veteran mare Ormmal (Djammal) and the wonderful A.V. Montoya. He was born at 3 a.m. 23/06/08 and is everything we could've wished for !!! A very pretty boy with large wide set eyes, lovely well set on neck, very long legs, pixie ears - I could go on & on He's a wonderful mover with his tail always up, he's very fine with the tiniest muzzle, and the sweetest temperament, he rather resembles Bambi ! He will be bay. Photos will follow - somehow (I'll have to ask SueB to assist me - Sue help!!
Elaine & Len German.

Thank You everybody for your lovely comments - and a HUGE THANK YOU to SueB for taking such wonderful photos of my lovely baby boy, Sue was at my yard at 8.45 this morning with her camera poised and very kindly posted them on here for me, I am very grateful Sue
Yes Sarah, Ormmal used to be owned by Jill Duke so you would have met her, I've actually owned her for 8.5 years now, she is the most wonderful mare always producing beautiful foals (I've bred four from her)and I will never part with her !! I still have her 7yr old daughter & 5yr old son who are both Nat. Futurity champions. I must admit to pampering her a little, but at 19yrs I think she deserves it |

I just wanted to put this cute picture up of 'Chester' calmly walking out of the stable block. I had never been to Elaines place before and found she has a beautiful victorian stable block. Swallows nesting high in the eves, very lovely indeed.
promise no more.

I have put one more on to show the lovely paddocks. They are all old Walled gardens....being a keen gardener I wanted to pull up the stingers and get planting Elaine has waited quite few years to get this old gal in-foal. So excuse the photos. With one covering from Golden Balls and the help of Regumate before covering her, to boost her hormone levels, here is the result.

Another cracking Monotya baby, congratulations Ormaal and the Germans, your mare looks fantastic and has always produced exceptional stock (I loved her Aikon Aszu daughter).
Great pics Sue you must be thrilled with Montoya's get.

Yes Paul, I am very thrilled with his foals.
What I am more thrilled at is the fact that people have wanted to use him. I think it is the highest form of compliment anyone can show you is to ask to use your stallion.
I have a huge problem in that my consultant is telling me to stop and get real by becoming a normal personie. no horses, my heart telling to carry on. Difficult. I only have artheritis so I am able to still take photos thankfully and enjoy doing so. I can still judge! but the breeding side of things for us is sadly coming to an end. We have one mare in-foal for next year and thats it. Probably no more. As for Montoya.....well we are delighted with all of his foals. They have good conformation, attitude and good movement, they all have the high tail carrage and lovely big eyes. Two of my favorite things. The proof will lay next year when they hit the show rings and then as they mature everyone will see what I have always believed in, that an in-hand show winning arab can and should go on to be ridden. Montoya is not there forever......... we have plans
Sorry to hog your thread Elaine. |
