Well, my daughter who is 8y (going on 18y!)is doing a project at school, on bones .....they are learning about the bones are formed and how it works. She had found a couple of bones around the farm, one fox's femur and a scapular from a cat. So the teacher asked if anyone who had any bones could bring them to school. My daughter asked if she could txt the Vet who lives in the cottage here on our farm, and ask if he had any others... she did but got no reply and went to bed. Late last night he arrived home and brought her a horses hind leg!! all wired up together so it moves as it is designed to, it is fantastic. I played with it all night, it was really interesting to see how it all works and takes and relieves pressure etc etc . So this morning at breakfast her eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw what she had to take into school today...! I will post photos later ......

I just luuuurvvve well adjusted children!!!! heeee heee!!! Bet the teacher and other kids will be very, very impressed.
Reminds me of a story OH told me from when he was at school. He took in an eyeball from a dead pig (oh yukkk, he's a farmers son!!!). He kept it in his pocket and approached a girl he fancied, saying "I've got my eye on you", after placing it on her shoulder. Sadly, the relationship never got off to a good start, goodness knows why!!!

blue smarties are placebo now... no e numbers so no point eating them or giving them to your sisters kids either!
My neighbour use to take out the green ones and throw them on the grass for the kids to find so that he could have some peace!!! |

Best behaviour is not allowed at Polly's I'm afraid, along with sensibility and no sense of humour. It is also a pre-requisite that you roll up with at least 2 bottles of something sparkling - 3 bottles and you get to decide who wears the green velvet dress. |

We have three cottages...Mum lives on one Vet lives in one that my instructor used to live in and the Falconer ....who is now my nephews girlfriend...helps looks after the horses and dogs ..and hens ( very good with hens funnily enough )........They are all wonderful people to have around...as long as they are well fed, hence we buy beef 1/2 a beast at a time...and Mum gets paid( for babysitting ) with prawns and wine....! |

Def need some piccys of Merlot in the green velvet dress, better still, piccys of actually getting into it!!!!
If I bring half a cow and a dozen bottles of sparkly stuff Polly, could I please come and live with you, cos I am sick of the madness here!!! (promise to leave the pig's eye at home)
Your place sounds pretty sane in comparison to mine!!!

Hey, I'm a party animal, can I come too?
My great-uncle used to take a (wild) rat to school, so that he'd get sent home
And a guy I used to work with had a friend with an eagle owl, so we used to collect road-kill for him. I got some funny looks the day I caught the train in to work carrying a dead rabbit and a moorhen - fresh off the road on the way to the station that morning
